At the front door exit, there is a rectangle of carved wood mounted on the area between the doors. The lodge tour guide said that this is the door from
the home of a Nigerian king. A plaque next to the Nigerian door invites you to "please touch " (the door, not the plaque! If you hang around there long
enough, you will see people walk by and touch the plaque). Touching the door while leaving the building is thought to bring good luck for your
journey. --Catherine
Try the Hidden Mickey hunt! Ask for a map at Guest Services. There are about twenty of them, some easy and some not-so-easy. Upon completion,
you'll get a very nice prize - but beware, they check all your answers.--Tammy S.
The afternoon tour of the Animal Kingdom Lodge) is fun and informative. You not only learn about the lodge, but also about African culture.
Be aware that the animals are taken off the savanna in the afternoons. This helps the animal keepers get a
good look at them, and occurs during the time when most guests are at the parks.
Deluxe rooms at AKL can have a daybed and therefore sleep 5.
Concierge rooms can have savanna views or pool views. You can request your preference but it is not
guaranteed. --Pam Forrester
