Cirque Du Soleil - La Nouba

La Nouba is a resident show at Downtown Disney.

This wasn't an official "event" but I thought I'd write a review anyway:)

We went to Cirque Du Soleil- La Nouba on Friday night and it was wonderful! It is located at DTD and is in a venue that was designed specifically for this show. There are no "bad" seats, but I would suggest being in the second tier (there are only 2) so you don't have to look behind yourself. With only 19 rows total in the venue, you are not far from any of the "action". We were seated in the middle section, in row KK (18) and couldn't have asked for better viewing.

Seating is uncomfortable, though. You are a bit "poured in and packed down". The seats remind me of an older movie house, not the "stadium seating" we have all grown acustom to. Even still, it is not horrible for 90 minutes.

You are able to bring in food. They sell popcorn, soda and the like in the lobby.

The venue does not open up for seating until about 15 minutes before showtime. There are bathrooms outsite to use before entering, which is easier than fighting for the ones inside. There are also both stairs and an elevator to go upstairs. We waited until nearly showtime to get seated which was good. With the narrow seating, you had to get up to allow people to pass.

With all the negatives laid out, it's time to get to the good stuff....this show is wonderful! It is whimsical "circus" with a bit of a story line. The "acts" are outstanding! It is a show you will want to see more than once as there is so much going on you for sure miss lots! Once really nice thing is that the music is LIVE not canned. That was a pleasant surprise as far as we were concerned.

This show is definately for adults, and children 10 and older would probably enjoy it.

As always, there is merchandising galore....CD's.....DVD's.....shirts....you name it!

Just a few more points:

  • Tickets prices range from the $49 - $95.
  • The show runs from Tuesday-Saturday.
  • Showtime is 6PM and 9PM.
  • The show was 90 minutes.
  • We were able to book tickets the same week, but were not able to get the day and time we wanted.
  • Discounts are available for the late show.
