Vacation Ownership Deals

Unfortunately, DVC does not offer the wonderful promos you can find at other resorts.

If you're serious about attending other presentation "deals", here's some links you might like to look at:

The Timeshare User's Group (TUG) lists some available promos. Just scroll down to Florida and click on the ones near WDW.

. Scroll down to the bottom for the Orlando one (we own a timeshare through them in LV)

If you've never attended a timeshare presentation before, let me warn you that it WILL take more than the 90 minutes that they promise, and they WILL be VERY persistant in trying to get you to commit immediately. If you can stand their bombardment and not give in, they can give you great information about their resort.

Things to keep in mind when you're looking for a timeshare:

** Season, high/low
** Floating or specific week?
** Room type (also how much/how easy it will cost to upgrade should you choose to get a bigger condo on your vacation)
** Maintenance Fee
** How long can you "bank" the time
** How many other locations does the company have (should you choose to go somewhere else without going through RCI)
** Location
** Amenities (especially if there are shuttles to parks and if so, is it free)

When you've decided on which timeshare to go with, DON'T purchase directly from them. You can find great deals through re-sale. Here are some links to timeshare resale sites:

The Timeshare Warehouse
Holiday Group Timeshare Resales
The Timeshare Beat
There are tons of information out there in addition to what I have listed. These are just some that I've had bookmarked :-)

You can check out Bid4Vacations.com which has a variety of timeshare deals - some of them *don't* require sitting through a presentation, so they probably wouldn't have as many perks.

FWIW, we are planning to add to what we already own at Orange Lake Country Club. It's really a beautiful resort right on the border of Disney property near Animal Kingdom Lodge.
