Low Fat Eating at WDW
Author Unknown

At The Magic Kingdom:

Stop by the Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland for rotisserie chicken, grilled chicken sandwiches and salads, low-fat ranch dressing, and vegetarian burgers.

At the Crystal Palace, you can dine with Pooh and his friends and enjoy a fabulous buffet. At lunch, there was Mahi Mahi with Tomato Herb Broth, sliced turkey, tons of fresh vegies and salad fixings, light salad dressing, whole grain rolls, fresh whole and cut up fruit, and low-fat, soft-serve ice cream. The lightheartedness of the characters matched many of the selections.

At Epcot:

Mosey on over to Pure & Simple eatery in the food court section of the Wonder of Life exhibit. Here you'll find vegetarian pizza with low-fat mozzarella cheese, baked potatoes with vegetable chili, low-fat hot dogs, a bagel stuffed with an egg substitute, and fresh fruit.

In the World Showcase, you can nosh your way around the world. Look for grilled chicken tacos in La Cantina in Mexico, smoked salmon and turkey sandwiches in Kringla Bakery in Norway, vegetarian choices in Lotus Blossom Café in China, veggie wraps in the African Outpost, yakitori (chicken skewers) in the Yakitori House in Japan, and hummus and tabouli in the Tangierine Café in Morocco.

At MGM:

Starring at the Commissary are American Heart Association-approved fast foods, such as seafood bean salad, vegetable chili pie, and even a banana egg roll dessert.

Next door at the Backlot Express, you can grab a chicken breast sandwich with barbecue sauce served with a piece of fruit for a fast lunch, especially if you are planning to wait in line for the Star Wars ride. On second thought, you may want to eat lunch AFTER you go on the ride. Just a suggestion.

At the Animal Kingdom:

At the Rainforest Cafe, try the grilled chicken salad served on a jungle of greens and cabbage.

Lastly, for a dining experience that is spectacular on all levels, book a reservation at 6 p.m. on the 15th floor of picturesque California Grill in the Contemporary, which overlooks the Magic Kingdom. The menu has a "Vegetarian Zone" where you can dine on out-of-this-world selections such as the Lemongrass Noodle Bowl with BBQ Tofu, Bok Choy, Vegetable Shreds and Thai Boullion. And just when you think it can't get much better than this, at 6:30 p.m. the lights will dim and you will be entertained with an unbelievable fireworks display, synchronized to background music that is piped into the restaurant
