Trip Planning > Ask Pam > DVC villas, what is included?

Ask Pam -- 7/23/03

Shana Putnam:

I am planning a vacation to the Wilderness Lodge Villas and was wondering if you could tell me what is actually in the rooms. Like do the kitchens have pots and pans and are there plenty of plates and cups along with everything else. Do they provide coffee and tea. I would just like to know what we would need to bring with us or if here is stuff we should bring. I would appreciate the answers to these questions. Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon.

Pam Responds:

The Vacation Club resorts on Disney property are also just the thing for those who desire or require kitchen facilities or even a separate sleeping space for their children ;)

The Disney Club resorts located at the Walt Disney World Resort include Old Key West, the Boardwalk Villas, the Villas at Wilderness Lodge and the Beach Club Villas. Saratoga Springs is under construction and scheduled to open in the spring of 2004.

There are studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom accommodations available at each of the Disney Vacation Club Resorts. Old Key West and the Boardwalk Villas also have Grand Villas which sleep 12.

Studio accommodations are larger than a typical hotel room and have a kitchenette. This area includes a small counter area with a microwave, a small refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster, and a sink. A can opener and corkscrew are also provided. Dish-ware includes coffee mugs, glasses, and bowls, paper plates, and plastic utensils. Paper towels, a sponge and dish soap are also provided. One packet of coffee, as well as a few powdered creamer sand sugar/sugar substitutes are provided.

In the larger accommodations you have a living room, bedrooms, an eating area and a full kitchen. The kitchens include a full-size refrigerator and ice maker, stove, dishwasher, microwave, and garbage disposal.

They are stocked with pots and pans, a cookie sheet, casserole dishes. They also have mixing bowls, a colander, pitcher, teakettle, creamer and sugar bowl, measuring cups and spoons.

The Units are also stocked with plates, glasses, wine glasses and silverware for 8. A Cutting Board, Knives and an assortment of other kitchen utensils are also included. One package of both decaf and regular coffee, in addition to sugar and artificial sweeteners and creamer are also included. Finally a vacuum, iron, ironing board, full size washer and dryer and a starter pack of detergent are also included.

There is a small grocery area located at each of the DVC resort stores where you can pick up food items. Their selection isn’t bad and has frozen food items as well as staples, snacks, desserts, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Have a wonderful time at the WLV. It is a beautiful resort, and the villa accommodations are wonderful. You will appreciate the extra space, and the wonderful accommodations. Who knows, you may even want to purchase your own DVC membership, just like we did after our first stay in a villa ;)
