Disneyland Ticket Information

Thus far, Disney has not taken the multi-option approach with Disneyland tickets as those of Walt Disney World MYW admission passes. Single park admission tickets can be purchased at the gate for $72 (plus tax) adults and $62 (plus tax) children, ages 3 to 9, and are good for entry into one park. Park hopper tickets can be purchased at the gate or in advance. Park Hopper tickets allow entrance into both Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure on the same day. Disneyland Resort also offers Annual Passes that come with additional perks for passholders.

Park Hopper Passes
The most important thing to know about Disneyland Park Hoppers is that the tickets expire 13 days after the first use, even if there are unused days. There is no "no expiration" option for Disneyland Park Hoppers. Nor can Disneyland tickets be replaced if lost. Guests ages 10 and above will need to purchase adult tickets. Children ages 3 to 9 pay child prices, and children under the age of 3 get in free. Disneyland tickets also must be used by the date specified on the ticket. See prices in the chart below.

Park Hopper tickets can be purchased in advance online at disneyland.com. While these tickets do offer a savings, there is a $5 charge for standard shipping and a $5 fee for picking them up at the Will Call window. Tickets shipped Express Mail cost $15 and International Shipping is $25. Park Hopper Bonus Tickets of 3 to 6 days in length can be purchased online and also include one Magic Morning admission for early entry at select attractions at a designated park. Disney's eTicket option for printing advance purchase online tickets is free. The eTicket option must be selected during online checkout. Tickets will be emailed as a pdf file to the email address specified. Printed e-tickets will be have a unique bar code that can be scanned at park turnstiles. Printed eTickets will then be exchanged for regular Disneyland Park Hoppers of the appropriate number of days.

Disneyland tickets can also be purchased by calling (714) 781-4400. These tickets, however, offer no advance purchase savings and incur a $15 shipping fee for orders over $200 and a $5 shipping fee for orders under $200.

Annual Passes
Disneyland offers four types of Annual Passes. Prices vary by the number of dates blocked out and residential requirements. Disneyland Premium AP passholders receive a 10% discount on merchandise at select locations and free parking at the Mickey & Friends multi-level parking structure. Parking add-ons can be purchased for other Annual Passes at an additional cost. See prices in the chart below.

Recently Disney began allowing annual passholders who live in SoCal the ability renew or buy a new pass and pay for it by the month. For renewals, monthly payments are as low as $12 and new payments for new passes are as low as $6 per month on a Southern California Select pass. New passes require a down payment of $72. Renewals also offer a discount of $20 on Premium and Deluxe renewals. To get the monthly option go to the main entrance ticket booth. For more information, visit Disneyland Ticket chart below.

For 2009, if you purchase a Southern California CityPass and use it for admission to Disneyland on your birthday, you can choose from any of Disney's birthday treats, the Birthday Fun Card, the Birthday FASTPASS or the Disneyland Resort 1-Day/1-Park Ticket that can be used any day during the 12 months following your birthday. For more information, read our 'What Will You Celebrate?" FAQ.

Ticket Upgrades
The value of Park Hopper tickets or unused days can be applied to upgrading tickets, but the upgrade must occur prior to the ticket expiration date or 13 days after first use. Tickets can be upgraded to additional days (eg. a 3-Day Park Hopper to a 5-Day Park Hopper) or to an Annual Pass. Regardless of a Park Hopper's printed expiration date, tickets are considered "expired" when all of the days have been used, even if it has not been a full 13 days since the first use. Older Disneyland passes with no printed expiration date are still valid as admission media.

Discounts For Disneyland & California Adventures

Disneyland tickets come with a printed expiration date and used tickets expire 13 days after first use. Therefore, never buy tickets sold on eBay, Craigslist or any unauthorized source. Use ticket vendors recommended on long-standing Disney information sites and communities when purchasing any attraction tickets and avoid all others. Most Disney communities have a long history with the reliable vendors and you will see those vendors mentioned often on forums, boards, and email lists.

Disney Specialized Travel Agencies

Discounted advanced purchase tickets can be obtained as part of a Disneyland package directly through Walt Disney Travel Company or other travel agencies. If you are considering using a travel agency or don't want to do all of the footwork required to locate the best deals yourself, it's best to use an agency that specializes in selling Disney travel. Those agencies that have earned the Earmarked designation meet with Disney's program requirements as authorized sellers of Disney travel. TheMouseForLess.com recommends The Magic For Less Travel. As an Earmarked agency their travel consultants routinely take part in onsite training and have extensive knowledge of the Disney destinations that non-specialized agencies typically can't offer. This can be a valuable resource to you and one that should be considered if your time is limited. There is no fee for using their services.

Ticket Brokers and Vendors

Non-package Disneyland admission tickets are offered by a number of ticket brokers and vendors at California locations and online. Ticket brokers buy their passes in bulk from Disney and then pass the savings on. In some cases ticket broker prices are better than advance ticket prices bought directly through Disneyland.com. When comparing prices online, just be sure to compare prices equivocally across the board. Check whether tax and/or shipping are included in the price before assuming one price is better than another. Most Disneyland vendors carry tickets for all of the most popular area attractions.

Some of the best online discounts for Disneyland tickets are available through ARES Travel. Ticket Ares prices for 2 to 5-day Hopper Passes offer a discount greater than advance purchase tickets available on Disneyland.com. Additionally, 3, 4, and 5-day Park Hoppers include the Bonus feature of one Magic Morning admission for early entry at select attractions at a designated park. Tickets are valid through 1/16/11, with first use by 1/3/11. Tickets expire 13 days after first day of use.

ARES Travel ticket prices include tax and orders will have a $1.25 per ticket convenience fee. Tickets will be emailed as a voucher to the email address specified. Vouchers will then be printed and exchanged for regular Disneyland Park Hoppers of the appropriate number of days at theme park gate.

The chart below compares Disneyland tickets purchased at the gate or by phone (shipping and service fee applies) to advance-purchase tickets bought online at disneyland.com and thru ARES Travel. Regularly offered 2009 tickets will appear as black print or as blue (links); special "limited-time" deals and prices are in Red.

The center provides visitors with attraction tickets for Disneyland, Universal Studios, Legoland, and Seaworld, as well as foreign currency exchange, Internet access, dining recommendations, driving directions, area maps and other vacation planning assistance.
