Halloween Time! at the Disneyland Resort

©Disney

Holloween Time!Halloween has been one of the favorite holiday for Disneyland Resort visitors with more spooktacular attractions added each year. For 2009 Disneyland is gearing up for Halloween with a new "Ghost Galaxy" overlay for Space Mountain and a fireworks "spooktacular" which will run from Sept 25 to Nov 1, 2009.

Haunted additions to Space Mountain's "Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy" will include a new ghoulish soundtrack and ghostly projections. The scary new experience will begin as a typical Space Mountain adventure, but will suddenly launch voyagers into an uncharted and haunted section of the universe.  Ghosts appear out of the starry darkness and swirling galaxies of Space Mountain, reaching out as if to grab guests as they speed through space. “Master of Scaremonies” Jack Skellington will host the Halloween fireworks, "Halloween Screams - A Villainous Surprise in the Skies" which will include additional Disney villains such as Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook and the Queen of Hearts. The villains will be on hand to sign autographs and pass out Halloween treats.

Holloween Time! What can you find at the Disneyland Resort during this most spirited season of the year? The season of tricks and treats will be celebrated at Disneyland Resort with the traditional giant "Mickey Mouse" jack-o'-lantern in Disneyland's Town Square.

Guest's favorite during this festive time of the year - haunted Mansion Holidays with Jack Skellington and his friends from "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas." will be residing in New Orleans Square from Halloween through the Christmas season.

Holloween Time!Spook seekers will find a celebration of "Dia de Los Muertos", Mexico's "Day of the Dead" in Frontierland. During regular park hours at Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure, Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort offers parents and children plenty of family-friendly fun in addition to the parks' many popular adventures. Halloween Time activities include special shows, meet-and-greets with Disneyland characters in spirited costumes, along with opportunities to decorate Halloween cookies and listen to storytelling at "Woody's Halloween Roundup" at Big Thunder Ranch, a boo-tiful corral for kiddies.

Holloween Time!Dedicated fans of Halloween and the Disney parks will want to experience all the "hot and cold running chills" of the season on Disney's Happiest Haunt Tour. In 2008, the three-hour Disney's Happiest Haunt Tour was offered twice a day, beginning at the "witching hours" of 5:15 and 5:30 p.m. The tour, conducted by a "unique" Disneyland Resort tour guide, includes the stories behind some of Disney parks' spookiest attractions, told from the perspective of Disney villains. Stops at thrilling attractions — Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Haunted Mansion Holiday, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Snow White's Scary Adventure — are among the highlights.

Disneyland's not-so-frightful Halloween fun can be found at:
Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland is again transformed for the Pumpkin Festival, where more than 300 “non-identical” pumpkins will be on display in shop windows.
Visitors to Big Thunder Ranch in Frontierland will sometimes find the ranch animals dressed in costume for a seasonal Halloween Roundup, with pumpkin carvers, Halloween décor and activities for youngsters, all presided over by Sheriff Woody.
Next door at Big Thunder Barbecue, Miss Chris and the Roundup musicians add Halloween songs to their repertoire.
Meeting favorite Disney characters will be easier than ever as Disney villains gather to plot Halloween mischief in “it's a small world” Mall in Disneyland, while other characters in seasonal costumes greet guests in Town Square, Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland and Sunshine Plaza in Disney's California Adventure.
Also available throughout both parks are special Halloween treats, including menu items such as Zero's Ghostly Ghoulash served in a dog dish in honor of Zero.
Special Halloween Time gifts are offered in Disneyland Resort shops.  Gifts include jack-o-lantern mouse ears and collectable pins depicting Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and their friends in Halloween costumes.

Holloween Time!In Disney's California Adventure's Sunshine Plaza, little ones can find Mickey Mouse's pal Goofy setting out to grow the West's biggest and most unusual candy corn at Kooky Candy Corn Acres. The Plaza will be filled with candy corn coconuts, candy corn pumpkins and other "fruits" of Goofy's labor. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror will be Extra-Errie, ghostily gussied up just for Halloween.

A perfect way to celebrate Halloween in special Disney style is the one-of-a-kind Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party. This private costume party lets little ones laugh and play with some of their favorite Disney Characters — including Mickey himself — and ride select attractions as they trick-or-treat through Disney's California Adventure park. The experience also includes interactive games, "spirited" music, and a nightly character cavalcade. It's an unforgettable evening of Halloween fun for everyone.
