From Our MouseForLess Members:
MouseForLess Interesting Facts about the resort:
This resort is HUGE. Take the time to explore all of it. My sister and I stayed here in September and just wandered around inside the resort for quite a while and when we finally came to the end of a hallway (yes, the upper rooms go down over all of the shops on the actual Boardwalk), we found some neat little rooms that are used for special occasion - as well as some neat artwork. - Stacey
The resort share stores/restaurants with a DVC resort (Boardwalk villas). Which in turn offers more than just your average hotel. - Sara King
MouseForLess Room Request Tips:
So we had a fifth floor, water view room. It was amazing! We were overlooking the courtyard that leads out to the boardwalk and the sunrise on the lake was magnificent. - Stacey
Request a room that has a view of MGM. We could see the Tower of Tower ride from our room. - Marie Lemmon
MouseForLess Hidden Treasures:
While walking around at the BWI, we got a good look at the villas. The little "yards" with their flowers were so quaint, it made us want to change rooms! this resort was like a small theme-park itself! The pool is one of the most fun of any resort we've stayed at - it was my first adventure on a water slide! The staff had activities going by the pool every day- Stacey
Walk the Boardwalk in the evening and watch the piano on wheels. - Marie Lemmon
Check out the hidden Mickeys and the goofy prints in the rugs in the hotel and the silly circus type mirrors outside near the boat launch on the Boardwalk. - Sara King
MouseForLess Tips for Romance:
You can spend some time on the lake with a Pontoon Boat, Canopy Boat or Mercury WaterMouse or take a specialty cruise. (Extra fee). Just a leisurely walk around the lake at night is so romantic. - Sara King
MouseForLess Tips for Families:
Just walking around on the boardwalk at night is an event! The ice cream shop is wonderful and there is always something to do! - Stacey
The Boardwalk offers lots to do from swimming, carnival type games, free entertainers (some nights in the evenings) such as magicians, jugglers, etc., surrey bike rentals, boat rentals, bird feeding, fishing (catch and release only), hair braiding, games and activities in the pool area, 2 arcades (one at the hotel & one at the ESPN club), etc. Or just a leisurely stroll around the lake. GREAT place for the whole family. - Sara King
MouseForLess Tips for Large Travel Groups:
Try to book rooms together. Easier to plan things. So much to do here that everyone in the group should be happy. - Sara King
MouseForLess Tips for Guests with Special needs:
Boardwalk is easy to maneuver if you have a wheelchair or crutches. Smooth surface. - Sara King
MouseForLess Tips for WDW Newbies:
You can get to so many places easily from this resort. Besides walking to EPCOT, the Yacht & Beach Clubs, you can take the boat to MGM (walking to MGM was too ambitious for me!) as well as to EPCOT. The busses were not great while we were there
but I am told that it was because it was value season and we had to share busses with other resorts - which was kind of neat too because it gave us the opportunity to see some of the other resorts up close that we had never seen before. - Stacey
Great way to get to know the layout of Disney and check out the other resorts (lobbies, restaurants, shops, pools. Then you will know what place you would like to stay at next time. - Sara King
MouseForLess Tips for Budget Travelers:
There is a little convenience store right by the boat launch that had great prices on souvenirs as well as snacks and things that a traveling family would need. This is also the same store where you pick up your packages that you purchased in the park and have sent back to the resort. - Stacey
Bring a collapsible cooler and then hit a grocery store on your first day. You do have a wide variety of eating establishments close by but all with the hefty Disney prices. Bringing in your own snacks and drinks can save you a bundle. Nice to always have something in the room to nibble on. - Sara King
MouseForLess Tips for Luxury Travelers: I only caught a glimpse, but definitely go for the suites or the villas. They looked wonderful. - Stacey
Book a rejuvenating massage treatment. - Sara King
