Deluxe Resort Classification
Located in the Magic Kingdom resort area
Check In: 3:00 p.m. / Check Out: 11:00 a.m.

Located just across the Seven Seas Lagoon, the South Seas come to Florida at the Polynesian Resort. Each of the eleven buildings in this resort are named for a different island in the South Pacific. The guest areas complete the experience with tiki torches, waterfalls, a beach with castle view and lots of lush, tropical landscaping. Amenities abound at this resort and the restaurants are a destination in themselves. Guests can even attend a luau at this resort and cap the evening off by viewing the fireworks from the beach or a dip in the volcano themed feature pool.

The Polynesian Resort, like all Disney resorts, is smoke-free. Designated outdoor smoking areas are indicated on the Resort Map.

Polynesian Resort is themed with South Seas splendor.

Resort Rooms:

There are three views available in the 11 buildings (known as longhouses) at this resort: garden, lagoon or theme park. All three views offer rooms that sleep up to 5, with two queen beds and a daybed. This resort also offers Club Level service, and various suites.

Resort Shopping:

BouTIKI stocks Disney character apparel and souvenirs as well as Polynesian Resort logo merchandise and other south seas themed items. You can also find snack foods, beverages (including adult beverages), magazines and books, and other general sundries.

Resort Transportation:

Disney's monorail service is available to the Magic Kingdom and via transfer to Epcot. The monorail station is on the 2nd floor of the resort. Disney's bus service is available to and from this resort to Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Downtown Disney and the water parks. The bus locations are across from the valet stand just outside of the lobby. A walking path to the Ticket and Transportation Center is also available.

Transportation Times Between Polynesian Resort and Disney Destinations
These times are approximate, provided to give you an idea of average travel times. Please plan on up to a 15 minute wait for Disney transportation.

    Magic Kingdom - 12 minutes by monorail, 9 minutes by boat
    Epcot - 19 minutes by bus, 15 minutes by monorail from the Ticket and Transportation Center, 35 minutes by monorail
    Disney's Hollywood Studios - 18 minutes by bus, 19 minutes by car
    Disney’s Animal Kingdom - 21 minutes by bus, 17 minutes by car
    Downtown Disney - 26 minutes by bus, 20 minutes by car
    Blizzard Beach water park - 22 minutes by bus, 12 minutes by car
    Typhoon Lagoon water park - 24 minutes by bus, 15 minutes by car

Resort Childcare:

The Neverland Club
Hours: 4 pm to 12 midnight

Offers supervised children's activities. Buffet served from 6 pm to 8 pm, featuring pizza, hot dogs, chicken strips, macaroni and cheese, and fruit (subject to change). Entertainment includes video games and films. Price is $11 USD per child; no minimum stay. Children must be four to 12 years old. Reservations required.

In-room child care is also available at all resorts.

Either by the front (Great Ceremonial House) or Tahiti in the back. Tahiti is close to the Ticket and Transportation Center (within walking distance) and the monorails to Epcot. - Allyson

If you have small children and are planning on coming back to the resort for an afternoon nap ask for a room on the ground floor. It's a lot easier and quieter to take turns sitting outside the sliding door on the patio and then the parents can take turns exploring without having to keep opening the main room door. - Steve Carter

MouseForLess Hidden Treasures:
Take a trip to the Tambu lounge and grab a Lapu Lapu and go see the torch lighting ceremony. Nothing like seeing a Polynesian ceremony with a pineapple drink in your hand. - Steve Carter

The beaches at the Polynesian have spectacular views of Wishes. Either grab a hammock or walk out to the point for a quieter more romantic view. - Steve Carter

Sometimes the quickest way to MK isn't through the monorail station in the Main lodge. Sometimes it's faster to make the short walk to the TTC along the nicely themed paths. Especially if you are there during a busy period and are trying to get a ride in the front seat. - Steve Carter

The luau is a fun time for all groups, large and small. Be sure to ask for special buttons when you check in - first visit, honeymoon, birthday, etc - Allyson

All buildings were handicapped accessible and I noticed Disney as a whole was very open to people with special needs. - Allyson

MouseForLess Tips for WDW Newbies:
Use the monorail system to hop back to your room in the hottest part of the day. We stayed at the park from opening until around 1-2pm, came back to the room to swim and nap and went back to the park after it cooed off around 5-6pm. - Allyson

Got an annoying itch you can't reach? Run to the Tambu lounge and kick back with the best drink in the "world" the Backscratcher it comes with a free bamboo backscratcher. - Steve Carter

MouseForLess Tips for Budget Travelers:
This is not really a budget resort but we found that the dining plan saved our family of 3 over $300! - Allyson

Don't forget to check out the activities in the Big house for the kiddo's, plenty of beads and fun stuff especially on a rainy afternoon. - Steve Carter
