Disney's BoardWalk Inn

Submitted By: Jackie

Date Of Stay: October 28 - November 5, 2006

Type Of Resort: Disney Deluxe

We stayed at the BoardWalk Villas on the other side of the Inn, for a week last October 28-November 5 (2006). I have to say that we had exceptional service, and we loved our room, which was a Lagoon view. In fact, we were one floor above the gift shop right on the BoardWalk promenade, and every single night the juggler would entertain just under our balcony. Our room was directly above the word 'door'. It was wonderful. We were so tempted to catch those jugglers' balls, and saucers. The fireworks from EPCOT were awesome.

We had to make amendments to our dining reservations, and the Concierge Desk did so without a hitch. We were very polite, and it went a very long way. In fact, upon mentioning that it was my Husband's birthday on Hallowe'en, we came back from MNSSHP to find a white chocolate Mickey statue and a autographed photo, as well as a cake with chocolate covered strawberries. It was so nice.

The transportation using the buses was slow, but when we inquired we were told that during Value season, the bus makes more stops because they put fewer buses on the routes. During busier times they actually do put more buses on the routes thus fewer or no stops. I do know what Stacey means though, because we experienced the same situation. The Friendship boats though, were great for us, and we got to MGM and EPCOT within 10 minutes, without a hitch.

I would love to visit the BoardWalk Inn and/or Villas again.

Rate Paid During Your Stay: Unsure - my sister paid for most of it as a b-day present to me! We did the standard "Magic Your Way" Package plus dining.

Room Sleeps : 4 people - 2 queen size beds

Don't Miss: The pool was great. The location is great - always something going on.

Room Location Suggestion: When we checked in we were originally given a first floor parking lot view. We both looked at the clerk as if he had two heads and asked "Do we look like the kind of people who would like a parking lot view?" It was just my sister and I and so we pulled out all the stops. We got upgraded to a fifth floor water view room. I personally reccommend it.

The Mouse For Less Tip: This is definitely not the place to stay if you don't want to spend money. There were some great gifts in the gift shop, however, like a box of salt water taffy for under $5.

Comments: Overall, the resort itself is beautiful and I was very thankful to be able to stay there. The transportation to this resort, however, is awful. You would think that with a deluxe resort that you would get better transportation than a value resort, but you don't. It took us almost an hour to get to Magic Kingdom because of all of the stops. And taking the boat to and from anywhere is no time saver either. We were late for check out due to this. My other comment has to do with the service at the resort itself. We had arrived with all of our dining arrangements made and then needed to change them. The service at the desk was awful where this was concerned. We were treated as if this were a hassle and then told that nothing could be done, but when we arrived at the restaurants and asked, it was no problem. Also, when we were checking out (after the boat problem) we had a very snippy housekeeper tapping her foot at us while we collected our things and asked us "Does management know that your still here?" I found that to be a little rude.

When I got to WDW with my hubby and kids, we go value. That's our budget and it's always fun. When I go with my sister, we go deluxe and I truly don't find the service to be any better.
