Don't Miss: Evening campfire with Chip-n-Dale, movies with popcorn and smores. And the electrical water pageant.
Room Location Suggestion: We stayed at the Dogwood Drive (Loop 1200), site was 1215. It is right next door to the Meadows Trading Post (where you can find
groceries-not cheap-, souvenirs, camping needs, etc), pool, and campfire (there
is a little trail through the woods where you can ride your bikes).
The Mouse For Less Tip: Even if you're staying at another resort, you can
still come to FW for the campfire sing-a-long. There is also a very good breakfast buffet at the Trail's End Restaurant which cost about $12.00/adult, $8.00/child. They also have a dinner buffet that is wonderful that cost $18.00/adult, $10.00/child.
Comments: If you like to camp this will become your absolute favorite campground. My first trip was in 1972 and it pretty much still looks exactly the same. Bring your bikes and you will be able to have enjoyable rides throughout the campground and can ride over to the Wilderness Lodge. It's very relaxing. You take a boat ride to the MK, Contemporary, and WL and the buses take you everywhere else. There are a few bugs but not bad; just bring some bug spray. The bathroom and laundry facilities are very clean along with all the grounds. Clothes detergent and fabric softener are available in the laundry room area. Come prepared with plenty of quarters as sometimes the machines were out.
The bathhouses also had ice and vending machines along with a payphones and a
house phone with all the Disney numbers conveniently posted. Having hot water
was never a problem. The Hoop Dee Doo Revue is held at Fort Wilderness. They
also have horse back riding, boating, canoeing, playgrounds, an arcade, a petting zoo, water mice rental, etc.

Don't Miss: Evening campfire with outdoor singing, movies with pop-corn
and smores.
Room Location Suggestion: We stayed at the Cotton Tail Loop (1500)
Directly across from the tennis courts, swimming pool (1 of 2), nightly
campfire, Meadows Trading Post (groceries, appearal, gifts, camp needs,
adult beverages), less than a 2min walk. Bus stops right there too.
The Mouse For Less Tip: The cost of camping is significantly less than
even a value resort room and if you have any type of camper it is just
as comfortable.
Comments: While the Disney theming is not in your face like the other hotels or resorts, but it is still very much all Disney and has that "feel". The buses are very timely with very little wait. We brought bicycles to ride around but never used them other than our son riding his with other kids, we walked or used the buses. You take a boat ride to MK and buses everywhere else. Each day we found all kinds of cottentail rabbits all over the place along with other freindly critters, very neat to see up so close. Bugs were there of course, yet you could comfortably sit outside without being eaten up , but never a problem even in August. The bathroom and laundry facilities were VERY clean along with all the grounds. Laundry supplies such as washing powder and fabric softner, etc were available. The bathhouses also had ice and vending machines along with a payphones and a house phone with all the Disney numbers conveniently posted. Having hot water was never a problem. The breakfast in the dining hall is the best value around
and the Hoop Dee Doo Revue is actually held at Fort Wilderness. They also have a petting zoo and horse back riding, boating canoeing, etc, amoung other things to do while not at the parks. You about need a day just to do all the things they have there. This is by far the best campground I've ever camped at. I have to share this: One evening, a light had burned out along the paved path to the bath house, so I called engineering from the bathhouse to inform them. After quickly using the facility, I was on my 15 second walk back to our campsite when a golf cart suddenly pulled up out of nowhere and a CM replaced the bulb, now that's FAST !!! If you enjoy the outdoors and camping, I highly recommend Fort Wilderness.

Don't Miss: The peacocks! They are everywhere and will follow your car!
Room Location Suggestion: We love loops 100 or 200.
The Mouse For Less Tip: You can catch the fireworks from MK on the beach at
Fort Wilderness. And the Electrical Water Pageant also.
Comments: This campground is nicer than ANY campground you will stay at EVER! And we are big campers. They clean the roads in the campground everyday!
It is spotless here. I absolutely love it here. Do make sure and tell them your camper is a couple feet longer than it actually is so you will have a site with enough room. We learned this after 2 trips there and barely fitting! One time we could not open our awning. Now we have plenty of room. The busing I hear can be a pain, but we use our own car. Be sure to attend the free campfire sing along with Chip & Dale. Also you can take a Hay wagon ride ($). The Hoop Dee Doo is located here ( a MUST do!) and so is Trails End Buffet (very economical!).

Don't Miss: There's so much to do here: take a boat out , go canoing,
walk a nature trail, meet characters at the campfire program, sit on
the beach, play volleyball, go for a horseback ride, sit on a
rockingchair and people watch, go for a carriage ride or a hayride. You
need a week just to do all that is offered here!
Room Location Suggestion: We love loop 1600. While it may be a pet
loop you don't need a pet to stay there. The sites are bigger than at
the preffered sites up front. The pool is a short walk. You have 2
restrooms to use; one on either side of the loop.Meadows Trading Post
is around the corner. You are close to the recreation and the campfire
program. And the bus stop is right at your door.
The Mouse For Less Tip: You can't beat the value for your money. Where
else can you stay at Disney for under $70 a night?
Crocket's Tavern has one of the cheapest buffets around. The service
is great and the food even better.
Comments: Many people complain about the bus system here. We've never
had a problem. I find the buses here come more often than at the CB
Resort. It is easier if you have a golf cart with you. That way you
can eliminate one of the buses. The boat ride to MK is quick and enjoyable.
While they need a new pool here since there is no theming or slide, we
found it enjoyable for our family. It's open 24 hours so it was great
to take a dip late at night and have the place to yourselves.
We love it here even more so than the resorts!! We even rent a
motorhome just to stay here!
Take a day off from the parks and enjoy all this resort has to offer.
you may be surprised at just how much there is to do here!!
Remember too if you have pets, you can take them here with you! Our
dog "Sandi" and cat "Felix" just love it at Disney and have been there
many times!!!
