Earl Benway (party of 1)

Where: Cape May Cafe Beach Club Resort

When: December 8, 2008

What: Dinner: All you can eat seafood buffet ($26.99)

Approximate Price of Entrees: $26.99 plus tip

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5 - Steamed clams and mussels were great.

Service: 5 - my server was great.
Atmosphere: 4 - cant really explain why though
Okay for Children: Yes - but supervision would be preferred when going though the line of the buffet. I saw some not supervised and it was a MESS.

Okay for Couples: Yes - just not the romantic place to go if that is what you are looking for.
Be Sure to Try: everything...thats what the buffet is all about!

General tips: Walk around first. Desserts are located away from the main food area. If the resturant is crowded, it gets very crowded around the buffet because there is not a lot of room to walk behind someone if you are coming from the other end.

TheMouseForLess tips: Eat a light lunch and pig out!!

Who: Shaw Family - 3 adults, 2 kids

Where: Cape May Cafe

When: Monday, Sept. 15

What: Dinner Clambake Buffet. There is a kid's buffet station which included the standard mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. The main buffet line includes the seafood -- clams and mussels served in small buckets, along with salmon and seafood salad; and another side that included BBQ chicken and ribs. There are also desserts such as bread pudding, pastries/cakes, and soft serve ice cream.

Approximate Price of Entrees: Total was approx. $120...we were on DDP, so we only paid the tip.

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5

Service: 4
Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: Yes

Okay for Couples: Yes.
Be Sure to Try: The mussels were good, I didn't try the clams, but everyone else in my group seemed to like them..

General tips: Definitely make sure you have an ADR because this place gets very crowded. There is a small dessert station near the entrance that doesn't get very crowded. The main buffet line gets pretty congested.

TheMouseForLess tips: Reasonable as part of the DDP, good food and a nice atmosphere.

Who: The Zastowny Family - Mom, Dad and son 12

Where: Cape May Cafe

When: June 29, 2008

What: Breakfast Buffet

Approximate Price of Entrees: Childs meal 12.99, Adult Buffet 22.99 total meal cost 62.81 with tax. Not including tip. This was a holiday pricing increase from what was posted on another website.

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5 - The food was great. A lot of different foods for a breakfast buffet.

Service: 3.5 - Our server didn't come around until after we got our first plate of food. But was attentive afterwards.
Atmosphere: 5 - The place was bright and colorful and the characters were fun!
Okay for Children: Great for Children. We had photos with Goofy, Minnie and Dale. They all hammed it up for the kids. Its a great buffet.

Okay for Couples: Yes, the food alone is worth the trip. Such a big variety of food to pick from.
Be Sure to Try: Believe it or not they had grilled aspargus on the buffet, my husband loved it. The blintzes were to die for. Fresh fruit to satisfy everyone. The usual eggs, bacon, sausage, sweet danish, oatmeal, grits, and make your own yogurt -granola parfait.

General tips: We were there at 8am and our reservation was for 8:05 were given a beeper and waited for about 5 minutes before we were seated. I would try to be early next time.

TheMouseForLess tips: We love this particluar buffet, having eaten the clam bake before. The breakfast was just as good. I can't say enough, how good everything was.

Extra Comments: Because we had eaten at the Cape May cafe before I thought we would try it for breakfast on the way to the airport for out trip back home. Boy, I was glad we did. Evev my son who isn't a big breakfast eater was satified with the meal.

Cape May Breakfast (1 table service)

Who: The Land family

Where: Cape May buffet: Clam Bake

When: Friday, September 29th, 2006

What: Supper

Approximate Price of Entrees: 25.99 per adult and 11.98 per child our total for 2 adults, 2 children tax and tip was 94.57

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 5
Service: 5
Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: Yes, the dining room was large and we were sat in a booth that helped "contain" the kids. The child's part of the buffet was lower so that they could see the selections (they could however eat off the entire buffet but there was a part that were the kids "specialties" chicken, hotdogs, mac and cheese, etc.
Okay for Couples: Yes, it would be fine.
Be Sure to Try: Everything I tried was excellent. I have not in the past cared for clams but I tried them and they were outstanding!! Their cornbread was awesome (sweet in taste). This was our favorite supper restaurant on this trip and the only one that we will be revisiting on our next trip.

General tips: Our ressies were at 5:40 and I believe that the restaurant had just opened for supper. (I may be wrong but the restaurant was empty and filled up quickly after we were seated). The food was fresh and we were seated promptly.

TheMouseForLess tips: Don't let the name of this buffet scare you. "Clam Bake" scared me away but I was interested in visiting the Beach Club and thought that this would kill two birds with one stone. I am SO glad I tried it out. The buffet had MANY different choices. They had chicken, seafood (shrimp as well), a meat carving station, fruits, veggies, salads, etc) Everyone in our party LOVED it!!! Our service was outstanding as well.

Extra Comments: Nothing!! Try it!!!

Who: The Revis Family (me) Karen 34, DH William 38, DS Matthew 11, DD Maeghann 10, DS Mason 8, DS Mackay 6, DS Malone 2

Where: Cape May Clam Bake

When: August 9, 2005

What: Dinner. We all had the clam bake.

Approximate Price of Entrees: 2 adults $49.98, 4 kids $43.96, Malone was free, 2 Cape May Coladas $13.50, 1 Margarita $10.50. Plus we received our 20% discount for our DDE card of $23.59. Total after discount $100.49 plus tip.

Rate the following (1-5, five being the best!)
Food: 6
Service: 5
Atmosphere: 5
Okay for Children: yes
Okay for Couples: yes
Be Sure to Try: clam chowder, mussels, clams

General tips: It gets busy here early so make an early ADR

TheMouseForLess tips: Use your DDE card here!

Extra Comments: My kids loved the fact you could color the table. They give you crayons and the whole table is a huge white piece of paper. And the wait staff put their name in big letters right on your table so you remember their name. My kids thought it was funny our waitress wrote her name near me and her name was Karen also. Excellent food. This was the first time we tried it and it is now one of our favorite restaurants. We already have an ADR for our next trip so we can eat here again!
