Downtown Disney
Tammy N - September 2001

We went to Downtown Disney this Saturday. While parking, on the end where Team Mickey is, they have it fenced off being "refurbished"

1. World of Disney. There is so much new stuff for the 100 year celebration. There were a few things with the 30th anniversary (travel mugs, shirts, and a new Barbie) Britnee had been saving her allowance so she could buy the Mickey Mouse that cost $50 so that was the main reason for this trip. She bought it and also picked some baby pink Minnie ears for the new baby that was born on Thursday.

2. Then the Lego center to let Britnee play. There were hardly any kids there. I have never seen the Lego place uncrowded. They have some barriers up saying "This area being refurbished"

3. Rainforest Cafe - It was a 25 minute wait for dinner. We joined the Safari Club before we were called, got our temp card and $10 certificate. We asked if the card was good on food and she said to ask our server, that she thought it was only good on lunch. While looking in the gift shop, they have new plates for $4.95 or $2.99 with kids meal purchase. They have Cha-Cha on them and it says to collect all their friends. So I'm thinking there will be a series of them to come out. We eat and then ask the server about the card and he said yes it was good for 10% off and that's what we got. (We also bought the Cha-Cha plate)

4. We went to the 2 R's shop (?) and looked around. Got the picture of the castle with Tinkerbell that I had been wanting for $2.99 on sale. It was $5.00. The picture albums from 2001 were half price.

5. Went to the Christmas shop and looked around. So many cute items in there and oh that smell!

6. Britnee rode the Carrousel.

7. Went into the Pantry to see if they had any new items for my kitchen. (I have the blue and white Gourmet Mickey kitchen stuff) Nothing new.

8. Looked in the store that sits with no doors and walls. See a new Square Dance Jessie doll and a new Mickey bowling game ($15.00)

9. Beside the Toys Fantastic shop, again it was fenced off for refurbishment. Glad to see some new things happening around there. Walked the length of the stores that are connected and then walked one more round in the World of Disney store. Then it was home (after we finally found the car)
