Auntgeelll's WDW Trip Report - November 2002

Day Four

Today we planned on a whole day at Magic Kingdom. We took the mono from CR, what a great way to travel and arrived right after opening. It was a little jammed up on Main Street, so we headed straight for Fantasyland. We wanted to get on Peter Pan first, but it was closed so went on Snow White, Pooh, and Small World. All were pretty short waits. By that time Peter Pan was open-what a cute ride. We swung around by way of the castle to see Cinderella's show which was really neat. Next we headed over to Big Thunder Mt. Railroad. The fast passes were already gone for like 2-1/2 hours so we opted to wait in line. Took about 30 min. and all the way up they're questioning me about how fast it goes, are there many dips blah blah blah. I told them it was a piece of cake. Needless to say when we got off they wouldn't talk to me for about 5 min. Everything else was really crowded by now, so we headed to Adventureland-stopped to eat a Pecos Bill's-not bad, it was about 11:10, hardly any lines, but by the time we finished there were no available seats and the lines were really long. Good tip from you all about steering clear of the eateries between 11 and 2. Next we headed to the Pirates of the Caribbian-DS seemed to enjoy that. Checked out the Enchanted Tiki Room-new show is really cute, went on the Jungle Cruise. We headed back to Fantasyland and went on the Tea Cups and Carousel then headed to Mickey's Toontown. None of them wanted to go on the Barnstormer (I think they were getting a little tired and the sore feet were starting to kick in). So we checked out Mickey's house and then got in line to meet Cinderella. That was a realllllly long wait-about 45 min. When we got up to her though DS asked to have his picture taken with her so it was worth it! Left and checked out Minnie's house and decided to take the train back to Main St. and head back to CR. We got off the train just in time for the parade and had a great view. DH and DS didn't stick around (there was football on TV!) and walked back to the CR. DD and I hung out for the parade and then went back to the resort for a dip in the hot tub and to relax the feet awhile. For dinner we took the boat over to Trail's End. It was a nice ride over and walked right in and were seated. The food was pretty good and excellent service. We took the boat back over to MK and went to tomorrowland. Fast pass for Buzz was closed and the line was pretty long so we went on the Indy Cars and went back to Main Street for a little shopping. We got a great spot for Spectromagic and then headed back to the CR--oh my aching feet! It was a great day.

Day Five

Boo-Hoo last day. We got up really early and headed for AK for EE. The bus took forever in our anticipation of getting there, it must have been nearly a half hour. We headed straight for the safari on arrival and got on in about 20 min. There were quite of few animals out, the giraffes are so awesome! Then we headed back for our PS at Donald's Breakfastasouras. It was pretty crowded, but they had our PS and had our table in about 15 min. The food was pretty good, but it seemed like there was never enough bacon for the crowd! The characters took a while to come around and Goofy was terrific. We never did see Donald, I asked our waitress and she said oh, he was on break and starts on the other side and works his way around. Since we were already there over an hour we decided to skip it and went to the Tarzan Rocks show, headed to Dino Land-packed, and then went to the Lion King show. In was pretty unanimous to head out and go elsewhere.

Since we had such a terrific time at MGM, we headed over there. We went to Millionaire again and on the Back Lot Tour. The kids really enjoyed both. We hit New York ST. just as the snow began to fly, got our 3D glasses and checked out the Osborne Lights. Talk about getting you into the Christmas Spirit!

Next stop, Epcot-DD was named after a friend from Norway, so we went on the boat ride, loved it. As we moved around the countries, we caught up with the parade and watched that again. DH wanted to head over to ESPN for dinner, but when we got there-2 hour wait-forgot about Monday Night Football! So we decided to head over to Downtown Disney. We walked up to the Rainforest and it was mobbed. Just then an employee came out and asked if anyone would mind sitting on the deck, we said we'd love it! It was a little chilly out there by the water though, glad we had sweatshirts. The food was really good, DH had the steak & shrimp special, DS-pasta & sausage(huge), DD-dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets and I had the pizza.

Finished off with a little shopping. DD finally talked me into a Mickey Sorcerer hat with the lights. About 11pm we called it a night, but we had another long wait for the bus. Finally, a CM member walked over and asked where we were going, got on his radio and 5 min. later- the bus.

Our flight was to leave at 12:30pm-met Tiffany out front at 10:30am and off to the airport Mickey hat and all. Our first trip, now over, but we have some great memories and hopefully pictures!

Thanks to all for your suggestions and tips. Couldn't have done it without you. Now I am in Disney withdrawal and check the boards every day anyway. Maybe I'll be the next fanatic. I said to DH on our last day, if we were to save $200 a month, we could be back in a little over a year but I'm not sure I can wait that long!!!!! Thanks again,
