Sunday, 10/19
I woke early and decided we'd let the girls sleep in today and do Blizzard Beach instead of early entry at
MK. They are just totally wiped out at this point (2 early mornings & time change).
Left for BB about 8:15. Had a great day. About 1 1/2 into our day, Miranda had a swim suit issue...a new
suit that was velour type material...it rubbed at her thighs & underarms to the point of being raw &
hurting...so mom sprung for a new suit. DH & I took turns doing water slides with Miranda. Meet a family
from OH with a little girl Laken's age - so they played a bit together and we watched each other's stuff. Did
family raft ride and the lazy river. Lunch at the Lottawatta Lodge was good. Found three HM.
Here's something to know. At BB they sell mugs for $10 then you can purchase all day refills for just $6. OR
bring your mug from your resort and JUST purchase all day refills for just $6. DH & I had happened to
bring our mugs with us so this was a bonus - very dollarless.
We left about 3:00 to head back to resort to clean up & change clothes. We took some pictures in Andy's
Room and then waited, again more than 20 minutes, for a bus to Epcot. Epcot was packed at 6:30. We needed
a quick, light dinner so we headed to WS and got fish & chips in United Kingdom - very good. We had PS
at The Coral Reef - just for dessert at 7:30. While waiting in lobby - SURPRISE - Mickey was scuba diving
in the tank! Nearly everyone in the lobby ran to see him (kids got to go up front!). DH stayed behind in
lobby - the only one - so we got the next seating. Dessert was good and the girls were given souvineer cups with
only a water order! Whole experience here was great.
Stayed for Illuminations which was beautiful. Buses ran well, I thought, considering the crowd. Late night
for our girls - back around 9:50. Miranda was complaining of not feeling her best and I felt bad she was getting
to bed so late.
High Point: mom was flexible in her plans (something they don't always see in me ) also, seeing Mickey in
the tank was very cool!
Low Point: not sure there was one, except for Miranda's problems today
Tomorrow: AK
Monday, 10/20
This was an early entry day but Miranda woke up this morning with a temperature of 102 and a sore throat.
Oh no! She insisted on going. We told her we'd take it slow, not worry about what we miss and keep her pumped
full of Tylenol. We got to the park about 8:50 - I realized that with dealing with a sick child before leaving -
I had left my trustly notebook in the room. Oh no! Okay, mom's being flexible on this trip - let's just go with
it. Went straight to Africa. Stopped for meal vouchers on the way (saw what the meal choices were for kids
and decided we would not eat there for sure). BTW: I got one adult meal voucher and 3 kids vouchers - dollarless
and I'm not picky about what I eat. Went to Safari and had only a 15 minute wait. Ride was great - we saw a
bunch of animals. But when they say they don't stop for pictures - believe them - you have to be quick with
the camera or you'll miss your shot. Found 2 HM on Safari - pretty cool! Strolled along the Pangan i Forest Exploration
Trail. Did some shopping at the Marketplace.
Went to catch the train to Rafiki's Planet Watch. BIG OH NO! I don't have my camera with me - where did I
leave it?? They waited in the train depot, I ran back to Africa area - checked around and in the bathroom
then checked with CM in the Marketplace. Whew! She knew I'd be back for it. So, I knew I'd never hear the end
of this one and resigned myself to being ribbed by the family all day. There are lots of HM in Habitat Habit
- some really cool ones. Saw Pocahontas & Stanley here. Got our ice cream with our vouchers.
Headed towards Discovery Island to see the Tree of Life and ITTBAB. Saw Flick along the way. ITTBAB was super!
Both girls enjoyed it! Ate lunch at Flame Tree BBQ - was very good - but wish we'd gone to the Pizzafari.
Next we went to Camp Minnie-Mickey and got Mickey's autograph - and I got a kiss - while a jealous DH looked
on. We ran into friends (family #3 if you read my Day 1 report). It IS a small world! We saw Festival of the
Lion King - which we all loved! Then saw the parade. Then saw Tarzan Rocks - also loved - Laken was so tired
she fell asleep during this show. Turk came over and leaned down next to her and imitated Laken by putting
her thumb in her mouth and closing her eyes! Very funny!
Left AK at 5:30 to get to MGM for dinner PS at 50's Prime Time Cafe. We were 10 minutes late - my fault
- I thought our PS was 6:30...but, remember, I didn't have my notebook - PS was actually for 6:00. We were
seated soon anyways. Cody was our great waiter (not a 'mom' type - but a lot of fun). We sat with and had
fun with a family from NE and some adults from Boston. This was truly a fun meal - everyone was relaxed and
enjoyed it.
Back to ALMo - kids in bed before 9:00 - yeah!. I went to resort store to pick up packages & do some more
shopping & plan for the next day.
High Point: Kiss from Mickey, dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe
Low Point: Miranda being sick, didn't get to Asia at all & only did Tarzan Rocks in DinoLand (though
the rest really didn't interest us much), losing the camera and that horrible feeling of all those lost photos!
Tomorrow: MK
