Doerle Family - November 2004

Cast of Characters: Me (Lisa 42), Mom (DM 62), DD14, DS15/16, Twin nieces Alice and Erin (DN9)

Day 2: November 7, 2004

Christopher woke up at 7:30 and I was already somewhat awake. He was going over to the food court to fill his mug so I handed him mine and mom's as well to fill with coffee. Grandma can't function unless she's had at least one cup of coffee. Everyone finally got around and ready and we were on our way to MK at 9:00. We parked in Pluto and were shortly through security and on Main Street. We picked up a birthday button at City Hall for Christopher and headed to the Castle for our 10:20 PS. The girls got in line for autographs and pictures with Fairy Godmother while we waited to be seated. We didn't wait very long. Breakfast was lovely and our server, Scott, was terrific. The Princesses made the rounds starting with Aurora, followed by Belle, Mary Poppins, Snow White and finally Cinderella herself. Erin was ecstatic, as Cindy is her favorite, and Alice was very excited as well. Afterwards, we hit a few gift shops and headed off to Wal-Mart with the intention of going directly to AK from there. Wal-Mart was busy as usual so we only picked up a few necessities. The girls were tired so we went back to the resort for a swim and rest instead of to AK. We're now thinking maybe strolling around Epcot tonight.

While we were at the pool mom's friend Mary Lue called. Her granddaughter was fussy and mom and dad weren't going to do much that evening. We told her we'd pick her up at 5:00 and she could join us for the evening. We picked her up at Boardwalk and headed to Dragon Court Chinese Buffet. We love this place as it has an enormous variety of food and all you can eat crab legs. After dinner we stopped in a gift shop next door for a minute and then headed over to Epcot. We walked right on Spaceship Earth as we entered the park. The kids really wanted to go on Test Track but there were no FP's available and it was a 50 minute wait. They decided to go ahead and wait. The three adults put them in line with strict instructions to meet us at the ride exit. The 3 of us went to get coffee and wander the shops. Our plan was to go directly from Test Track to Illuminations. Right about 8:30 they came out and we went to scope out our spot. Since Mary Lue is staying at Boardwalk we wanted to be somewhere near the International Gateway. We crossed the bridge towards France and found a nice spot. Shortly the show started and everyone loved it. We parted ways with Mary Lue and headed to the car. Got home by 9:50, grabbed a few mug refills and settled in for the night. Everyone was tired due to our late night last night and we all fell asleep relatively early.

Day 3: November 8, 2004

I woke up at 6:45 to get ready for EMH at Animal Kingdom. We didn't do too bad and were at the gate at 8:30. First thing we did was get our FP's for the Safari. We grabbed bagels and danishes for breakfast and then headed back to the Safari. There were lots of animals out this morning and our ride was delayed by giraffes in the road up ahead. We were fortunate that there was a beautiful elephant right where we were stopped. Everyone loved the ride. We headed over to the Lion King show just in time to sit in the back of the giraffe section. We still could see very well and it was great as usual.

The twins wanted to get autographs afterwards so mom and I stayed with them while Chris and Maggie went over to get FP's for Kali River Rapids. While we were waiting for Minnie's autograph we noticed that there was a film crew there. A CM explained that they might stop the line for just a minute while they film. When the twins were up there they began filming. After we left Minnie a member of the crew approached me about them being in the shot. They asked me to sign a photo release in case they are in the video, so I did. It is the Spanish Language planning video due to be out in February. How exciting. After getting all our autographs we headed over to Flame Tree BBQ for lunch. Chris and I got in line while mom and the girls went to find a table. Everything was delicious. We then took the kids over to Kali for their FP and mom and I decided to sit it out. Once they were done it was time to leave Animal Kingdom for a swim in the pool. Upon arriving at the hotel room we saw t hat Mousekeeping had arranged the girls dolls and animals in the window. They were thrilled and we took pictures. Off to fill our mugs and lounge by the pool.

Around 3:40 we packed up to get ready to go to MGM. We got there around 4:30 to find that the park closed at 7:00 and not at 8:00 like I thought. Oh well, we'd make the most of it since it wasn't really crowded. Headed over to get a FP for Tower of Terror to find there was only a 13 minute wait. So, the 4 kids got on standby while mom and I got FP's for a second ride and got 2 FP's for Maggie for RnR. It also had a short 10 minute standby wait. When the kids got off ToT the twins decided they wanted to do RnR as well. I said okay and off they went with Maggie. Chris doesn't do RnR so he hung out with us in the gift shop. After that we went over to Voyage of the Little Mermaid. The twins really liked that, especially Alice who loves Ariel. It was around 6:30 by now so we headed back to ToT so they could do their FP's. With 10 minutes to spare they went on RnR one more time as well.

Since we hadn't had dinner yet we decided to go to Downtown Disney for a bite and some shopping. Got very lucky with a parking spot. McDonald's sounded very good to all of us so we grabbed that and ate at an outside table. Did a quick tour of World of Disney and then headed back to the room for a good rest. Everyone was kind of tired so it was lights out early.
