I returned yesterday from one and a half great days at the WDW. I felt like a little kid again sine I did things that I had never done before thanks to this
great list.
Characters: Me (29), BF Sue (22), met later by other BF Marianne (25)
Sue and I arrived at WDW at around 11:30am on Friday (left home at 10am). We had some trouble finding the resort but found it at noon. Her mom had made the
reservation for us, as she is a DS cast member, and gave us the wrong information. We thought that we were staying at POFQ but it ended up being POR.
I love the themeing of both of these resorts, being as my family lives in New Orleans. After we checked in to the resort we set off to DTD on the boat. The
captain talked about all of the trees along the way. He also motioned the tree houses since we passed them and said that they were planning on renovating them
and opening them again. When we got to DTD we decided that it was time for lunch. We stopped at Earl of Sandwich to look at the menu at were a little
disappointed in the number of offerings so we decided to head over to Wolfgang Puck Express instead. Lunch here was wonderful and relatively inexpensive. We
shopped at the stores and we sent out Pixie Dust Postcards, had a great time picking these out. It then began to rain so we headed to the Bus
stop to head back to the resort to have Marianne meet up with us (this trip was to help try to cheer her up as her mother died two months ago). Marianne had
been at WDW since the day before with another one of her friends so after meeting us at POR they went over to DTD. Sue and I decided to go take a look at
some of the other resorts while we waited. (This was the first time I had been in any resorts other then the All-stars, living so close we never stayed over
night on property). We first when to The AKL this place was great we enjoyed looking around in the gift shop and at the decor. From there we headed to
the Grand Floridian, We had decided that we would have dinner at Chef Mickey's that night so we took the Monorail to the Contemporary. There was no one
waiting to ride in the front of the monorail so we rode with the driver (another first for me). Marianne joined us at Chef Mickey's and
we able to be seated in about 10 minutes. Having a character meal was another first for me. We had a great time interacting with the characters until
we did not realize that the singing was to be interactive and Donald Duck through a napkin at us.
After diner we returned to the resort.
The next day we were going to head to one of the parks but decided to go to the prime outlets instead, after we had breakfast at the POFQ food court.
A good time was had by all but I really enjoyed getting to feel like a little kid again doing things that I had never done before in all of my trip there.
