The Grady's Grand Disney Adventure

Day 3 (June 6-Sunday)

Today is the last day of the Epcot Flower and Garden festival, so I definitely have to go. We declared this day Mommy's day. We will not be doing any of the big stuff today (Test Track, etc.) unless we happen to fit them in. The goal is to see all of the special F&G stuff.

After arriving at Epcot, we get in line at Guest Relations to get our Annual Passes activated. I had bought them at the Disney Store one at a time to spread out the cost, sometimes when they were offering triple Disney Visa Rewards. The activation took little time and we were off.

We start off with pictures of the topiaries in the entrance plaza (the Fab 5). A Disney photographer takes our picture (which we later buy) and takes one for us on our camera. It turns out well also.

We try to get on Ellen's energy adventure, but ½ way through the movie, they make an announcement that the ride just went down and make us leave. We then decide to get some lunch.

Electric Umbrella is right there so that's our choice. A double bacon cheeseburger, 2 cheeseburger meals, and a kids chicken nugget meal (warning, there are only 3 small nuggets with this meal) $25.94. Food was not bad. Ryan discovered the talking trash can. His reaction was priceless. First he took a double take and then he kept pushing open the door, until he announced that he knew how it worked. The boys wanted to eat upstairs, so we went and were able to overlook a JAMMitors performance below us.

Next was Figments Journey into Imagination. My kids enjoy this ride, but I can't help but think there could have been a lot more done with this (the ride vehicles are very fancy).

After a short trip through the beautiful rose garden and the Doggone Maze (twice for Ryan), we were off to explore the countries. First stop Canada, watched the movie and ran into the Kidcot Fun Stop. The boys decided to make a mask, so that became their mission for the day. We went to Canada, UK, France, Morocco, Japan, and USA. Stopped in Japan for the shaved ice (can you say YUMMY?).

At American pavilion, saw the fife and drum corp. and the boys helped lead the pledge of allegiance-along with all of the other kids. It was just time for the Voices of Liberty (I love them), and watched the American Adventure. The boys were very attentive. Nathan actually was asking me some questions.

After the show, we decided to go back to the camper for a swim and some dinner. We stopped off at Test track and got fast passes for later. As we were leaving Epcot, the skies grew darker and during the bus ride, it started to pour. We had to drive our golf cart back to the camper (without a windshield). We were soaked by the time we got back. No need to go swimming now! It was thundering anyway, so I'm sure the pool was closed. We ate dinner and decided to go back to Epcot to finish the masks.

It started to rain again when we got back to Epcot. Ponchos on and off we go. Rode Spaceship earth as we went by (it only stopped 3 times during the ride). Because of the rain, Test Track was closed, so we didn't get to use our Fast Pass. In Mexico, we got our stamp and rode the boat ride. Steve was teasing me that we did get to ride small World after all (I have been whining because it is closed now). Went to Norway and got stamped. Ryan saw a Viking hat and really wanted it. He had been having trouble with his poncho so Steve thought this might help keep it on his head. He looked funny with it, but it did the trick. Rode the boat ride and got off just in time for Illuminations. We had a terrible view, but we knew we would be back to see it again.

Back to the camper and rest for tomorrow.

**Side note-Today was Gay day at Epcot. Except for a very few people with T-shirts pronouncing "Gay Days", it was not noticeable. There were lots of people in red shirts, but the day was just like any other.**

Day 4 (June 7-Monday)
Magic Kingdom Day

We were off later than I wanted to today. We arrived at Magic Kingdom around 10:00. The place was packed. A trip over to Tomorrowland to check out the line for Buzz Lightyear (over 60 minutes). Too long. I went over to Space Mountain to get fastpass. While we were waiting, we went on Carousel of Progress. The ride broke down during the first scene, so we had the pleasure of watching that scene twice. It still wasn't time for our fastpass so we went to have lunch at Sonny's (as Ryan calls it)-Cosmic Ray's to the rest of us. 2 Cheeseburger meals, 2 Cheese steak Hoagies, a side of fries and 2 Large Cokes $29.32. My kids love to come here for the cheese sauce for the fries. The sautéed mushrooms and onions on the cheese steaks were very good too. While the boys were finishing up, I ran over to Pooh to get Fastpass.

Off to Space Mountain…Nathan has always been petrified to try something new. He doesn't like rides with big drops. We have been coaxing him to try Space Mountain this trip. He finally tried it with the promise that he would never have to ride it again if he didn't like it. He was practically in tears before we got on, but he was determined to ride it. He got off with a smile from ear to ear, proclaiming, "That is my new favorite ride." That's my boy!

We walked over to Pooh, and guess what?, it was down (do you see a pattern here). They told us we could use our fastpass any time later in the day. Walked through Fantasyland and picked up Fastpass for Mickey's Philharmagic. Kept walking to Frontierland to see what we could see. We stopped and saw Goofy's Jamboree. We were right up front on the floor. Great show-lots of character interaction. I was so caught up in it, I forgot to take pictures!

By this time the heat was unbearable, so we decided to go back to the campground for a swim. We wanted to catch the train from Toontown, but the train station was closed. So we walked back up to the front to catch the ferry.

After a nice refreshing swim, the boys rode their bikes while I made dinner. After dinner, it was back to the Magic Kingdom to use our fastpasses. (Thank you to the person who gave the tip that you can use FP after the expiration time.)

We finally got to ride Pooh (he is not my main man Mickey-but I have to admit this ride is cute). The ride stopped 3 times. Next we saw Mickey's Philharmagic. Excellent show! I love watching everyone trying to catch the flying stuff-my kids included. Next stop, Country Bear jamboree. Good show, as always-so sad they took out the bears for Pooh in DL. We though we should go back to get an early rest-tomorrow was early entry day at MGM.
