The Grady's Grand Disney Adventure

Day 9 (June 12-Saturday)

We all sleep until around 8:30 today. We get up and it is already hot/humid, so off to the pool we go. We swim for a while and decide to rent WaterMice boats. That was a lot of fun. My boat went much faster than Steve's. We went for ½ hour, which was plenty of time to zip around the lake jumping waves. While we were out there, another person flipped their boat over. I'm not sure how they did it but there were boat patrols over there in about 2 seconds. Everyone was OK. 2 Sea Raycers for 30 minutes each was $40.79 (including my 15% AP discount).

After lunch in the camper, I want to try to find the other outlets. We went to the Orlando Premium outlets first. I didn't find anything I wanted in the Disney store. The kids bought some pool toys at K-B Toys. Ryan was determined to learn to use a snorkel after his problem at the shark pool of Typhoon Lagoon.

Next we went to Belz Outlet. I didn't buy anything in the Disney store in building 2. We took the outside walkway to the other building where I bought a Disney Girl Doll (11.99), and Magical Moments pin (3.99) and a Mickey Safari plate (5.99). We stopped at Denny's on International Drive (can you say traffic zoo?) for dinner.

When we got back to the camper, it was just before 8:00. It had rained while we were out so we guessed we were safe to go to the campfire. The sing along had started when we got there. The rain started, just enough to be annoying, but stopped when the movie started. Chip and Dale stayed under the roof for photos. We watched Beauty and the Beast (one of my favorites). There was an extremely rude family who came in just as the movie started, making lots of noise, yelling, and not even facing the movie. The adults were worse than the children. Some people around us got up and moved. They eventually decided to go to Pleasure Island and left. Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and enjoyed the rest of the show. I felt sorry for anyone at Pleasure Island that night.

Day 10 (June 13-Sunday)

We get up to go to EE day at MK. We make it into the park by 8:05. First stop Space Mountain. It is down. We walk over to Indy Speedway and take a lap around. Next we enjoy Peter Pan and the Carousel. It is now after 9:00, so we head over to Animal Kingdom. We go over to the safari for FP. We go through the Paganoni trail. It is so hot; it is difficult to enjoy ourselves. Before our safari, we stop at Tusker House for lunch. 2 adult meal deals and 1 child meal deal ($31.92). We got 2 Rotisserie Chicken meals and 1 child's macaroni and cheese meal with 2 large drinks and 1 child drink (actual value $25.61). We all shared and there was more than enough food for all of us. After lunch, we went on the safari. There were lots of animals that came very close to the vehicle.

We went over to Camp Minnie Mickey to see Festival of the Lion King. This is my absolute favorite thing at Disney. The boys are picked to march around with the animals at the end of the show. Nathan is chosen to be the kid that shakes Timon's hand during the show. (My digital camera has so much of a delay that I missed the photo).

It is almost time for the Pocahontas show when we get out so we stay to see it. Cute show, but the theater is so hot. After the show, we stop to get our free ice cream with a bottle of water.

I stop at the Island Mercantile to get a pin from yesterday's pin event for Tina from Pittsburgh, who wanted a pin with her wedding date on it. Congratulations Tina! They had many to pick from, but the date was so small on some that you couldn't even read it. I got a very nice Donald Duck pin for her.

We go over to Primeval Whirl for FP. The boys play in the bone yard while we wait for Tarzan Rocks. We go into the theater and the temperature in there is even hotter than outside. We melt during the show. I love this show too and sing along (I own the soundtrack). When we get out of there, we decide we can't take the heat anymore and decide to go back to swim. Steve and the boys use their FP for Primeval Whirl (I can't do the spinning) and we leave Dinoland.

The parade has just started. Although I hate to miss it, we duck through the shops to the exit.

We get back to FW, change into our swimsuits, and head over to the pool. Seems strange but no one is in the pool. The lifeguard tells me there is lightning in the area and the pool is closed. We go back to the camper and I let the boys have a water battle with their mister fans. They both had fun and were cooled down. I cooked dinner on the grill and we were lazy in the air conditioning for the rest of the evening. The kids played checkers. We were all in bed by 9:30.
