Day 3 - Friday, September 17, 2004
When I woke up, I still felt queasy from the night before, but I wanted to get up and dressed before the maid came. Mike got us breakfast while I showered
and got dressed. The longer I was up, the better I felt. I decided to go with Mike to the tournament (11am game), and if I felt sick, I would take the WDW
transport bus back tot he resort. I felt great! No problems! it was hot, but I was careful to stay in the
shade and drink water.
Our team lost the first game, and we found out that we already "won" our 5 pm game due to forfeit. So our next game was at 7pm that night. Mike and I raced
back to the resort, got into our swimsuits, and went to Blizzard Beach. I wimped out of a couple of the slides (I'm afraid of water since I almost drowned at age
4), but we had a wonderful time. I had a waterproof camera with me, and I think I got some good pics. The lazy river goes all around the park, so we referred to
it as our "public transportation". We jumped in and out of it instead of walking around the park! : ) We bumped into some other softball players that we knew,
and they teased us because they had 2 wins, and we were 1-1. Mike shrugged and said," I don't care, we have Disney!"
We left BB to get ready for the next game, and when we got to the resort, I couldn't find my flip-flops! I must have left them at BB! So sad : ( So after I
showered, I went (barefoot) to the resort's store and bought $15 Minnie Mouse flip-flops and a $28 totebag. The backpack that I had brought with me wasn't
working out - I'm a totebag girl. So Mike meets me in the parking lot and we go to WWoS. We lost, which meant we were out. The whole team was cranky and
miserable... except me and Mike! ***evil grin*** As far as we were concerned, our vacation just gained 2 days!
Back to the resort, grabbed dinner and did laundry. We also talked to the CM at the DVC desk, and made an appointment to meet with DVC reps the next morning.
Finished the laundry and went to bed.
Day 4- Saturday, September 18, 2004
At 9am, Mike and I drove back to the WWoS for "BatWars". This is an opportunity to try out all the newest softball bats and talk to reps from all
the companies. http://www.batwars.com/ It was really hot, but Mike was like a kid, hitting with all the bats. We got a couple catalogs and keychains, plus we
ran into other softball players from our area.
Back to the resort to get our 11am van ride to Sarasota Springs for the meeting with DVC. Everyone was so nice to us! We waited quite a while for our
rep, but we chatted with a CM for over 10 minutes about Disney and his job. Mike is really interested in DVC, so we are going to look into it.
The rest of the day, we were at MGM. I had been so excited about MGM. From all the descriptions and tips in my Foder's guide, I thought that MGM would end
up being my favorite park. But, no. It was as if all the rides and attractions were great *ideas*, but weren't thought out completely. A common complaint
you'll hear from me is "too slow". I don't want these rides to be fast, just a little bit faster. For example, The Great Movie Ride was soo cool, but it
dragged. Same with the Backlot Tour. The Indiana Stunt Show was awesome- and I have pics to prove it! We also did Star Tours twice. I think that the Motor Cars
and Stars Parade was my favorite WDW parade, and the Little Mermaid show was fabulous. I got teary eyed!
For dinner I had one of those Turkey Legs. It wasn't turkey! No way! I think it was pig. But whatever it was, it was yummy and unladylike- so I loved it.
Fantasmic was so much better than I imagined! I've been hearing from alot of people how good it is, but no one did it justice. I had goosebumps and a goofy
smile on my face the whole show. Very few of our digital pics came out, so I have my fingers crossed that the print film comes out.
