Wagner - October 2004

Saturday, October 23rd - Day 3 Wake up call from Mickey again at 7:05 - quick breakfast in room - no wait for the bus to MGM at 8:00 - we had to do a quick run to catch it. Once in the park, We got FP for TOT and headed straight for Rock-n-Roller Coaster. This will be a first for me. The baby swap meant hanging out in the courtyard there. Anyone else think it would be a good idea to have some character's signing autographs back there? There's nothing for the younger kids to do while waiting for everyone else to ride this ride - which I loved, by the way. Back to TOT (DH's first time on this) - DD5 and I did some shopping on Sunset Blvd while we waited and then did the switch. Okay, this has taken quite awhile but we didn't have a lot we wanted to do in the park today. We did some shopping and we each got a new pin and DD11 got a pair of earrings.

We did the Backlot Tour next - it's pretty much the same as it was but they took out the row of set houses. We waited in a short line for Mickey's autograph & pictures. We're not doing the big autograph push this trip but are trying to get the 'gang'. We're having them sign on white material that I plan on using to make a quilt wall hanging for our rec room.

We had lunch (PS at 12:05) at 50's Prime Time Café. We love this place and it's a must for us. We used one meal voucher and purchased a meal - and it feed all of us - more on that when I do a Restaurant Review. Suffice it to say, the meal vouchers worked out great for us on this trip - I've never used them before but now do recommend them. We had Aunt Carole for a CM and though she wasn't as fun as Cousin Jenn or Cousin Cory that we've had in the past, she was loud and I like loud. Food was great as always.

We hurried over to the Beauty and the Beast show. We really enjoy the pre-show Four for a Dollar. After that, DD5 decided she did NOT want to ride The Great Movie Ride (what's up with that?) but I decided to keep the peace and let DH & DD11 ride it. DD5 and I walked over to the hat and there was Andy Mation making a balloon Mickey for some boy. He was great & funny - DD5 thought she was in line for one - but it takes so long to make just one that's apparently all he does at any given time. Frankly, I was surprised she didn't start crying but she took it pretty well.

We left MGM about 3:30 and headed back to MK - this meant taking a bus to the Transportation Center. We can see the bus there and we're hurrying…but he pulls away…ugh!…oh, wait! He saw us and stopped (mid-road I might add)…how nice…we give him a Thank You Pixie Dust card on our way off the bus. Took the Monorail over to MK - this was our only Monorail ride the whole trip, I just now realized. Once back inside MK we took the train to ToonTown - this is DD5's turn to do whatever she wants because she hasn't gotten to actually do much today and we didn't finish here yesterday. So, we toured Mickey & Minnie's houses, took a spin on the Tea Cups (the whole family in one cup) and did HM. We had dinner at Cosmic Rays. We enjoy the food here - but had bad service this time - which I just could not understand what that poor girl was doing behind the counter. She was pulling orders out of sequence and at one point was so far behind she asked the cooks to stop cooking! LOL I'm not laughing at her - actually, I felt sorry for her - she really did not seem to know what she was doing. She actually took my ticket from me, crumpled it up and threw it on the ground, and then I had to tell her what I'd ordered.
From MK we took a bus to the Boardwalk. This was a fun place. We just kind of wandered around a bit and then rented a surrey bike and took a couple of laps around. We took a bus from the Boardwalk to DTD - this took forever! Beware this bus makes many stops - DD5 fell asleep due to the length of this trip. We finally arrive at DTD, plans were to just hop on a bus back to POR but due to the length on the trip we all decided we had better stop for a bathroom break. Finally, arrived back at POR - too late for a swim so we went straight to bed. I did manage to purchase the postcards for the program today at MGM but could not find postage there anywhere.

High Point: Rock-n-Roller Coaster & TOT
Low Point: Bus ride from Boardwalk to DTD
Tomorrow: Epcot

Day 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
