Jarvis - December 2005

Saturday December 10 2006
Weather: high 72, low 52 overcast.

Again we were up at 7 am and had breakfast at the hotel at around 9 am. We went into Epcot and got a fast pass for Soarin. We did Living with the Land which to me is a wonderful ride. Very informative and pretty cool with all of the veggies and how they are grown. We were right up in front with the CM so we were able to joke with him a bit. When he would ask questions to people on the ride no one would answer and just sat there so we piped up and started answering all of his quesions and talking with him.

After the ride we went upstairs to do the Circle of life show and then went into the Imagination pavilian and saw Honey I shrunk the audience. I love the mouse part. We went into the Kodak Image Works where Chris was taken up on "stage" and announced as the inventor of the year! It was very fun as he got to be a helper with the demo on Kodak film with the giant camera.

We headed off to the Coral Reef restaurant and got to see Nemo (is this a mini car shaped like him with someone inside driving or is it operated with remote?) and on the way into the restaurant, we got to see the walking coral plant (I don't know his name. It is kind of like Devine in AK) Mom and I had steak and Chris had pizza. We thought the restaurant was beautiful but kind of pricey. After lunch we went back to the Land pavilian and Rode Soarin. WOW! What a ride. I won't go into detail and ruin it for those who have not had the chance yet but this ride is incredible. I was very happy we got fast passes too because now the stand by wait was 90 minutes.

We went to Innoventions West and then ran into Daisy Duck. Chris gave her a treat bag and she kept it on her bill. Very cute pics. We went into club cool and tried some of the cokes. I got a great pic of Chris trying Beverly (hysterical) and we got some coke things for Chris to play with.

We then headed into World Showcase at the Canada side and meet Kenai and Koda from Brother Bear. We saw O' Canada and then checked out the gardens and water falls. Santa was finishing up his story so we listened to the rest and got pics with him. After Canada we went to the UK and headed right for the tea shop. There are some teas here that we can only find at Disney, like the Brazilian Baha, so we bought tons of tea. I spent about $60 and mom spent about $90. Crazy! We checked out the shops and came across some street performers doing A Christmas Carol, comedy style. They were very funny.

We took the International gateway to the boats to check out the Boardwalk hotel. The boat captain Jim was very funny and Chris gave him a treat bag as well after we chatted with him for a bit. At the Boardwalk resort, we checked out Santas village, made out of Gingerbread and chocolate and the giant tree. Did some shopping in the gift shop and then went to the arcade by ESPN. At the bakery next to the arcade we noticed some gingerbread houses on the top shelves. Luckily they were open and I got my WDW gingerbreat house for $22. I got some presents for my boss from ESPN and after Chirs was done playing games, he met a CM named Amy who does face painting by the water in front of the arcade (if anyone sees her tell her hello from us!) She was very sweet and they talked for quite a bit and bounced his Coke basketball back and forth for quite a while. After they exchanged email addresses, we headed back for the boat dock to go back to Epcot. We met a very nice couple from Texas and talked to them for quite a bit.

When we got back by Epcot Jim the captain was waiting on the dock and we chatted with him again. We went to France briefly but at this point it was dark and we wanted to get a spot for Illuminations. We passed the Japan pavilian and had to stop in Mitsukoshi for Yu-Ghi-O cards for Chris. I snuck some Christmas shopping in when he wasn't looking. When we got to America, we got some hot dogs and a funnel cake and got a spot for Illuminations in front of Germany. We met a very nice family from England who were nice enough to share their picnick table with us. We had a great seat for the show and the family was very nice and we talked about some of our favorite BBC shows.

After Illuminations, we headed out of the park and back to the hotel. We did some shopping in Everything Pop and got Tristan (our bassett hound) some presents and I got the Villians cookie jar. We did a bit of swimming and then off to bed.

Firsts for the day: Characters: Koda and Kenai. Rides and restaurants: Soarin, Coral Reef restaurant, Innoventions West, the new Club Cool, Illuminations and the Boardwalk resort.
