Jarvis - December 2005

Day 7: Thursday December 15 2005
Weather: High 77, Low 53. Sunny in am but rain showers in the PM.

We had an 8:20 ADR for Chef Mickeys but we blew it off to get some much needed rest. We got up at around 9:30 and packed up a box to ship home. Not only do I take TONS of pictures on my trips but I also shop a lot! We shipped the package home from the front desk and were very surprised. The box weighed 42 pounds and to ship it home 3rd day priority was only $12.00. Very cheap.

We caught a bus to DTD since we had pre-purchased tickets for Disney Quest. Chris loves games and we knew he would have a blast here. We got off accidentally at the Market Place instead of West Side so we went into Days of Christmas and bought 2 of the ornament sets. One was the themepark rides and the other was the WDW landmarks. Chris stayed outside to play in the fountains and got SOAKED! Thankfully it was warm and kind of windy that day so he was pretty well dried off by the time we got to DQ.

We did POTC first which was fun. Chris was the captain of the boat. We did terribly as a team but oh well, better luck next time! Then Mom and Chris went on the Virtual Jungle Cruise while I looked for the gift shop. It was on the other floor and outside of the exit so I just went back upstairs.

After VJC, we went upstairs to do Aladdin's Magic Carpets and made our way to Sid's Create a Toy. Chris really liked this one and for only $7.95, we got the toy that he designed plus the picture of his toy with the name (this is still one of his favorite things from Disney) We did the Animation Academy where we learned how to Draw Minnie Mouse. Chris and I both love drawing so we had a lot of fun. Mom however does not like to draw and her Minnie was a bit well, not as artistic shall we say! We bought the print outs of all of our masterpieces and then went to do the Mighty Ducks pinball, Buzz Lightyear ride, and then played some games up on the 5th floor. Chris won about 40 bouncy balls and Chris and Mom both won at the claw machine. Amazing!

We got some pizza for lunch and then did the Comix and Alien Invasion. Chris did Virtual Space Mountain while I did some shopping. Mom was with him and bought him the DVD. We watched it when we got home, hysterical! We did a bit of shopping at Planet Hollywood since they had T-shirts on sale for $5. We took the bus back to Pop and dropped off all of our purchases and then headed of to the Magic Kingdom for MVMCP.

We had a PS for Crystal Palace for 4:30 but we were running behind in schedule and didn't get into the park until around 6. As soon as we walked into the park we met Goofy and Max and Scrooge McDuck. Mary Poppins was there with Bert and the Penguins but we missed them. We went into the exposition hall and got a MVMCP shirt. We took the completed VMK tour forms back to VMK central but there was no one there to do it! They had closed an hour before. Chris was devistated as he was really looking forward to getting some codes. They told us to come back the next day but we told them this was our last day in the MK. We asked if we could mail it in to get the codes and they told us to hold on, they'd check. Lo and behold, they come back with a manager who overrode everything and got Chris his deluxe pack of VMK codes and an extra wristband! He was so excited. Major pixie dust for him!

After thanking the CM profusely, we went into Tomorrowland to meet Stitch, Buzz Lightyear and Mr & Mrs Incredible. We got cookies and hot chocolate and went to see Mickeys Night before Christmas. We got great seats up in front and to the right. The show ended just in time for Holiday Wishes and we hot a great view from the bridge going from Tomorrowland to Main Street. Tink didn't fly since it was raining but she flew the night before so at least we got to see it once on this trip.

After Wishes, we went back to Tomorrowland and rode Space Mountain and then went back to Adventureland to get a POTC sweatshirt that I had been eyeing for a couple of days. It was $45 but I loved it. We caught the Holiday Parade, which was a bit delayed due to the rain. We caught Celebrate the Seasons and got back to the hotel at around 12:30. Another Magical Day :)

Firsts: Characters: Scrooge McDuck, Buzz Lightyear. First Attractions: Disney Quest, VMK codes and Mickeys Night before Christmas.
