Dates May 8th- May 12th
Shades of Green Resort
Cast of Characters: Me and DH
We had a really really good time! The crowds were very light and we
got to check in at SOG at 9:50 am with no problems. This is my 3
time back to this resort and it is SOOO much nicer then when I got
stuck on overflow at POP.. never again would I stay at POP!!!! If
you are miltary and you do not mind that your room is not Disney
Themed..then you can get a heck of a deal and not have to pay ANY
TAX on your room, food or at the exchange. The rooms are the
biggest at Disney and we had a great ground floor location with a
nice patio overlooking the golf course. Much nicer then being
crammed in a tight, thin walled room like POP. We went swimming in
the Mickey Pool and then headed over to Magic Kingdom for the day.
Longest line we stood in was 15 minutes for Space Mountain. I never
had to use a fastpass and after a long day we hopped on the monorail
and our bus was waiting for us right now time. I was reading
earlier someone was talking about how Shades Buses are older.. They
are the same buses as the Disney buses and they are not crammed full
of people. The only time we saw a crowd is when a Disney Bus took
us to Downtown Disney. It beats the overcrowded crammed full POP
century bus system ANYDAY. Weather was great and had rain only one
day for about 15 minutes. I was glad it rained because at the time
Florida was having those bad fires. I love the breakfast buffet at
the hotel..its wonderful and I had a fresh made belgium waffle and
all the trimmings..they have everything you can think of without the
horrible high prices!! We went to AK the second day and got their
when it opened. We made a bee line to Everest and rode it five times
in a row..I loved it!! then went on the safari ride and *Tough to be
a bug* and *Dinosour* then we left and went to Epcot. Still no
crowds at all...Epcot we rode Test Track, Soarin, and had lunch at
the San Angel Inn... first time eating at San Angel and what a
TREAT!!!! someone here mentioned it and my husband and I both love
Mexican food and it was a real nice atmosphere.
That evening we went to Bongos which we both love!!! Oh I love the
way this place is set up and love the atmosphere and they have
wonderful food. Then it was off for a front row seating at Cirque
De Soleil, La Nouba..I have seen this show 5 times and it is sooo
worth the money. The four white clowns are my favorite and the
dancers are amazing. Next day was off to MGM which is our favorite
park. Again light crowds and no lines for rides. We both love
Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster so we did those both a few
times and then it was time for a short rest LOL. We had lunch at
Sci-Fi and this again is a great place to eat! Nice and cool with
entertainment to boot! We then road the other attractions and
enjoyed the day with dinner at Prime Time. If anyone goes or is
going ask for TOPHER!!!! HE IS SOOOOOOOO GOOD!! He had our entire
section red embarressed and my husband got to join the clean plate
club hahaha never saw his face so red before!! The wait staff WILL
make or break your lunch/Dinner.. you can tell he enjoys his job and
he has that higher voice that is also loud enough for the entire
section to hear. One guy sitting at the next table tried to tell on
me for not finishing my green beans..Topher told him *well Mr.
Tattle Tale just turn around and mind your own business, you are in
enough trouble as it is without worrying about other people* he was
a true riot and kept it up the whole time. Last day we went to
Universal which I also like to do and again low crowds and no lines.
New Shoes for the vacation $85.00
Limo ride from airport $90.00
New Tinkerbell decal for car $8.50
Seeing your husband (who is a Marine Staff NCO that is use to being
in big crowds and giving out orders) get picked on with his clean
plate over his head turn bright purple..........Priceless
Hope everyone with upcoming trips has a great time! I am headed back
in October but this time my mother is flying out from California to
come visit WDW so it will be me and mom :) My husband leaves me for
a year to go overseas...please everyone keep him in your thoughts
for a safe trip over and a safe trip back.
