We arrived Thursday, quickly picked up our rental car and met with other
MFLers for lunch. It was a lot of fun to meet all of you. Hey Tony, I looked
for you at MK! After meeting for lunch we did a little shopping at DTD,
checked into the hotel, then off the MGM. We watched a few shows, went on the
riding exhibits, had dinner at Prime Time, and watched Fantasmic. We were able
to get front row seats.
On Friday we started our day off having breakfast with Lilo and Stitch.
There was way too much food. The characters were so much fun. Lilo gave my
friend a lesson to learn the hula. Mickey blew her a kiss. Pluto hugged her
tight. Stitch was very mischievas (?). When they did the parade Mickey
grabbed me and my friend and we were all off on our own adventure. It was so funny.
Then we were off to MK. We got in about 12N and left after the fireworks.
She's older than me and I just thought she could keep up. She was always
behind me. We laughed about that. I offered to get her a scooter but she
refused. I found out she had high blood pressure so our rides were limited. We
basically stayed in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland which she loved. We were
there for the MNSSP, did a little trick or treat, just barely made it into
Liberty. Saw the show in the theatre there, which I'd never seen and was very
interesting. After that was over we decided to pick our spot for the show,
parade and fireworks. She was grateful for that, her legs hurt so bad.
The next day we spent at Epcot. We were both very excited about the Food
and Wine Festival. We got one sample in the very beginning. The lines were
sooooo long it just wasn't worth standing in line for 45 minutes to get a
sample of food. So we did everything else in Epcot. Ate lunch in China. Shopped
in Germany. Met a nice man from Boston while we took a rest. My friend
made it all the way through Epcot. We stopped in London to pick a spot for the
fireworks. We decided we needed a cold drink. I left her in her spot to get
us one. When I got back she said, where did you go? I said Mexico! We
laughed. But while I was off on my errand I found a better place to sit for
the fireworks. So I helped her up and off we went. We sat over near the two
gift shops as you enter Epcot. The heat from the fire was hot!
She had a great time, it was here first time. She enjoyed meeting everyone
at lunch. She couldn't believe how knowledgeable we all are.
Oh, we stayed at the Clarion Hotel on Hwy 192, Marker #5. It was okay, it
was free. If I was paying I would have stayed at All Star. Staff was very
friendly. We needed extra coffee and shampoo and it was there within minutes.
We had to buy a one day ticket because I only had enough for two days. I
brought used ones with me without knowing it. So we stopped at one of those
cheap ticket no tour places to check it out. The tickets were $55 for a one
day, no tour. We had no problems at all. We stopped at several of those tacky
gift shops on 192 and found that all the Disney stuff that was in the
stores, catalogs, and online was in these stores. A T-shirt was $8.99 versus $20+
at Disney. We were happy. There was LOTS of stuff. We were on Hwy 192 near
markers 5 and 6. Happy shopping everyone!
The next day I took her to Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach Club so she could
see some different hotels. She couldn't believe how beautiful everything was.
The detail.
That's it. A good time was had by all!!!
