Disney Fan- April (Easter) 2006

Cast of Characters: Me (turned 33 at the world), mom (58) & son (9)
April 23 - 24, 2006

Day 9 - Typhoon Lagoon: Got there around 9 - EMH - Found a spot for mom near the wave pool & then we rode Keelhaul & Mayday Falls, got mom to ride Gang Plank Falls & Castaway Creek; left mom again & rode Crush n Gusher - didn't like the fact that we had to carry the rafts on all these rides - unlike Blizzard Beache where the machine takes it up for you! Crush n Gusher seems fun - there were lots of teenagers in this area - but it really hurt the back of my thighs when it went over some black areas; I opted my lifting a little on the raft whenever I saw the black areas & then it was better... don't want to ride it again though! Then we went to the surf pool - that was horrible!! at least for me - son loved it & I had to stay there for a Looooong time because I didn't want him there alone... those waves are really, really strong! At one point, the lifeguard blew the whistle, the waves stopped, she immediately jumped in for someone - thank God it was nothing, the person was fine; It was reassuring to know that they don't take anything for granted & if they see anything suspicious, they jump in...

We had planned to leave the pool at 11 to have lunch at Leaning Palms & then leave the park to visit some friends house. I was so glad it was only a 1/2 day park! Don't think I want to go here again. After visiting our friends, we went to the Boardwalk, had dinner & ice cream at Beaches & Cream & then left to start packing :(

Day 10 : We checked out crying - put some gas in the car before we returned it; We returned the car without any problems... On our flight there I was thinking I'm always 2 hrs ahead & there is never a line - we flew Spiritair goming there & American Airlines to come back home...so I was NOT 2 hrs ahead going home & paid the consequences!! the lines were terrible to check our luggage. Mom's terminal was downstairs so we said goodbye there. Then we had to go thru the security area... that lines was worse! but since we were going to miss the flight if we waited on the line, the security agent passed us thru another lane (got a peak of my mom coming to that line - she had to wait since her flight was later than ours) & we barely made it to our flight... Then since the weather in NY was not good, they didn't give the pilot clearance to land, we flew over Virginia for 40 mins! just waiting - the pilot said that we had enough fuel & he kept us posted - Son & I slept most of the time! We finally landed 2 hrs behind schedule!! but we made it safe & sound!!! :)

We had a great time! Our days were filled with pixie dust & I can't wait to go again!!! :) The dinning plan worked out great for us... but next year when son is 10, I don't think it would be good since he doesn't eat much. We used all our meals & snacks - so it was worth it! Fast passes saved us a lot of time & we got to do everything we had planned to do!
