Cast of Characters: Me (turned 33 at the world), mom (58) & son (9)
April 15 - 16, 2006
I finally got a break to sit down & write our trip report. I was kind of nervous at first... daring to go during EASTER... but it was GREAT! We were at the parks very early, left for a break & went back during the night. We did not have to wait on any of the rides...we practically walked onto everything... I was amazed to see how people would stand on a line for hours when Fastpasses were still available... couldn't understand that... but it worked out great for me - that they didn't use them! :)
Day 1 - arrived at MCO 6:30pm; waited for mom - her flight arrived at 7:45pm - got our rental car from National - took 417 S - no traffic!! Checked in at All Stars Sports without any problems around 9; grabbed something to eat at the food court using the dinning plan. When we got to our room we found somebody else's luggage there! Called front desk & they came to pick it up... but I didn't like the fact that someone must've been waiting and waiting for their luggage to be moved to another resort or I don't know why else they were in our room... the bags did not have ME tags so I don't think their owners just arrived... so that was kind of weird...I was thinking that could happen to OUR luggage... anyway, they picked up the bags & we went to bed.
Day 2 - It's EASTER! We had decorated our windows with Easter clings last night. We got Stitch & Mickey's wake up call - it's amazing how quick my son could get ready in the morning at Disney when he gives me such a hard time to get up to go to school! :) We had breakfast at Chef Mickey's (our ADR was for 8:00 - but we got a table at 7:30) They had a special kind of brunch because it was Easter - they had shrimps & steak and the usual breakfast food... and ice cream! Food was good, but we only got to see Mickey, Goofy & Pluto. After breakfast we went to the Easter service - it was very nice & there were a LOT of people in the service. After the service we waited for our time to parasail (at 10) - mom couldn't go on the boat because they had 4 other riders. The ride itself was relaxing... when I was up there I was thinking "why I am not scared?" :) I felt very secure with the straps around us... My son had a blast... however he didn't want me to take my legs away - my legs were kind of holding his. Although we were high, it felt like we were in a swing... it was very nice - expensive so I don't think I'll do it again, but I had the most 10 relaxing minutes up there.
Then we went to Disney Quest around 10:30 - we were chosen to be the Explorers of the Day - we got special pins and a card that let us go without waiting on the Buzz ride, Pirates of the Caribean & CyberSpace MT & they gave us a certificate. We rode CyberSpace 1st - my son made a weird rollercoaster & then I had to ride it with him! It wasn't as bad as a I expected... I was dizzy though :( We did Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, Mighty Ducks Pinball, Alladin & Buzz which was our favorite - we did this one 3 times! I was bored after the biggies, but my son wanted to play some of the other things so we waited until he enjoyed the other rides. It started getting crowded around 12 so we left. Got a Birthday Button & some snacks at Downtown Disney & began our shopping spree :) My son's favorite store: Once Upon a Toy; me & mom loved Wonderful World of Memories. Checked Earl of Sandwich, but it was too crowded so we headed back to the hotel's food court. After lunch my son went to the pool for a while. When we went back to the room, the Easter bunny had left some goodies for my son (I had left everything ready b4 we left the room in the morning - I forgot something *wink*) & then we all took a nap! It was very HOT today!
We had 7 o'clock ADRs for O'hana's - we were seated immediately & THAT was A LOT of food! Never tried Banana bread pudding before & it was DELICIOUS! & the ice cream they put on it, was the best I ever tasted! My son had fun with the coconut races & limbo - they gave me a special cupcake & sang Happy Birthday- I was too full so I took it to go - it was very nice! We watched the Water parade & Wishes from the beach & then we went back to our room - it was a looong, looong day.
