PatsyAnn - April 2006

May 5th:
EPCOT WS- We slept in a bit today and headed out to EPCOT. Once again Derek and I have never devoted whole day to nothing but World Showcase. My starting goal was breakfast at the Kringla Bakeri og Café. Well the pastries in Norway were amazing! That pretzel thing is my new favorite WDW food. Mom really enjoyed riding Maelstrom and enjoyed the movie too. At the Norway Kidcot I suggested to PatsyAnn that she have the CM stamp and wish her happy birthday in their native tongue. This became a fun addition to our whole day as we traveled the world. Next we walked into Mexico and got a silly laugh on boat the ride. We particularly enjoyed the orchids that decorate the path out of the temple. Next we were off to Canada. Along the way we enjoyed the Flower/Garden booths and checked out the topiaries. At this point we detoured so that we could check out Tink's fairy maze and to see the rose garden. As we entered Canada we ran into Kenai from Brother Bear. He was really playful with the birthday girl. We enjoyed Oh' Canada and visited the shops. We soon were in the UK, where we were greeted to a performance of the World Showcase Players. This was our first time seeing this and it was a real hoot. We headed into the toyshop and while PatsyAnn was greeting a proper English greeting at the Kidcot, Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Mary Poppins arrived. We all had fun interacting with these silly English chaps. Now it was time for lunch.

We dined at Yorkshire County Fish Shop and had a nice seat by the lagoon. We strolled off to France and were treated to the sent of perfumes and the sight of their colorful flowers. The movie was beautiful and we chuckled at the Harry Potter music. We decided to split a pastry then we were off to Japan. The gardens were great and the bonsai trees amazing. Derek bought a piece of pottery as is a tradition for him. When we crossed over to Morocco we wandered around the buildings and pointed out the restaurant to mom. I really enjoy Morocco and next time I promised myself I would by a mirror or something. As we were leaving we had the joy of meeting up with Genie. Mom commented on how many autographs she has gotten. Now it was time for some wonderful American Music and the American Adventure. The horse still amazes me and I'm really moved by this show. The topiary red, white and blue stars were great.

We left America and it was dinner time when we entered Italy. L'Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante was next on our list. The food was great. Make sure someone in your party gets the alfredo, it tastes so good. Mom got a candle in her tiramisu and the waiters and musician on an accordion all sang happy birthday to her.

We departed and arrived in Germany for some shopping and to check out the Dwarf topiaries. The movie in China was a treat and we loved the tin toy exhibit. It was fun for Mom as she remembered actually playing with this type of toy. As we departed and said hello and goodbye to the panda and troll topiary, it was time to get a spot for Illuminations. We thought that we were going to hit Sorin' after since it was EMH, so we watched over by Canada. It was a great site and all enjoyed it. After the show we headed toward the Land. The standby line for Sorin' as 90 minutes so we pasted on it and walked over to the Living Seas. This was a great moment to just walk around and see the aquariums and then we headed home to Pop.
