Cast of Characters: The Soroko's: DH Peter (30), myself Christine (32), my mom (54) and DD Tenley (14 months)
Day 2 - August 13th:
Today we slept in later than usual for us, around 9:00 and we moved to the food court for breakfast. I feel that the prices were VERY reasonable for us as Mom
and I got kids platters and DD shared with me. Not much of a breakfast eater.
We finished unpacking and just looking around the store. The weather was very
different for us, not humid like previous August trips and we did some swimming.
Our package didn't start until the 14th and DH is already saying he has had TOO MUCH food court stuff even though we have been here a little over 24 hours. Can you tell he's a pampered kind of guy? We go back to the room and call Chef
Mickey's to see if they have ressies for lunch. They did! Great! Downtown
Disney for some shopping and pick up my Disney Points card (mine never came in
the mail on time even though I had requested it 4 weeks before, oh well)
DD's first Disney character interaction this trip (last trip she was 4 months
and didn't realize them at all). She was at first scared and hesitant while
sitting in the high chair but when we put her down on the ground she immediately
went to Dale and hugged him and patted his back saying "Oh, baby" so we knew the rest of the trip was going to be great! This was very hillarious to us too as
she was sure that Chip and Dale were chickens the whole trip and during this
meal starting bocking like a chicken whenever they came around. Thanks Baby
Einstein!!!! Every furry creature we see is either "Cat" or "Bock Bock" and
Dale got a kick out of it.
Lunch in itself was not that great. I have been to Chef Mickey's before for
breakfast and dinner and to have to pay $75 for the 3 of us was no so great but
we had free dining starting tomorrow so we chalked it up to a great character
interaction during a not so crowded lunch. We used our visa points anyway so
technically it was "free" money even though it took me a lot of charging to pay
for that meal.
Back to the hotel for some relaxation and pool time again. DH and DD became a show for everyone at the ASMov pool. She is not afraid of anything and has been
swimming since 3 weeks old. We have an inground pool and a friend who is a
pediatrician who lives next door to us told us to just put her in from birth
under water. I know it sounds cruel to some of you but she swims about 10 feet
and can then turn herself over and tries to float on her back. She likes to be
thrown high in the sky and then go under or splash so I think DH scared LOTS and
LOTS of mothers, LOL. Of course after seeing her nodding and saying "Again,
again" they brought their scared toddlers and kinder ages over and said "See
this little girl, she is not afraid to go under the water".
An early bed time, we are off to the Magic Kingdom tomorrow.
