Cast of Characters: The Soroko's: DH Peter (30), myself Christine (32), my mom (54) and DD Tenley (14 months)
Day 3 - August 14th:
After purchasing Tour Guide Mike but never really looking at it because of lack
of time and forgetfullness I had printed a ton of stuff that I wanted a couple
of days before our trip. I am up early reading about the MK and even in the
little time I used it I learned so much, definitely a different way of thinking
than we have had over our several trips so I thank TGM!
Arrived at the MK around 10:00 or so and within the hour between 10 and 11 we did ALL of Fantasyland except for the carousel and even squeezed in pictured
with the crew from Alice in Wonderland (Alice, Mad Hatter, Dee and Dum) in front
of the cups and with Pooh and Tigger in front of the Thoughtful spot. Tenley
has now fallen in love with the characters. A big step since the frightful
first few minutes at Chef Mickeys. She now hugs them and pats them on the back
saying "Oh baby". It is fun to watch, almost brings tears to my eyes.
Lunch at Pecos Bills. Love the toppings bar. Mom, Tenley and I share the
double cheeseburger meal. We are on the free dining plan but DH is 6'8" and
really in shape. Body building makes him need to eat several times a day (gotta
get in that protein) so Mom, baby and I share when we can to decrease on the
cost of DH's other meals.
We decide after lunch that it is way too hot to stay as it is getting crowded so
we head back to pool it and get ready for dinner. Today is the beginning of our
10 day package so our ADR's kick in for our dining. I feel like this plan,
although awesome and free, really takes away from our travel habits. We have
been to Disney many times and plan to go back so we are pretty laid back, if we
don't see it or do it we will see it next time. With these ADR's and the fact
that almost everyone had free dining, it was pretty tough to not stick to our
plans. We met several people who did not get a chance to use their table
service credits because there was no room left anywhere and when we did try to
change some of our plans we were told "TOTALLY BOOKED, TOTALLY BOOKED" over and over again so we had better make our ADR's and not switch around.
Dinner is at Wolfgang Pucks at the West Side. I loved it here. DH and I had
the filet. So nice to get a $35 entree and walk out paying nothing! We will
definitely pay for the dining plan even though it changes our habits a little.
I think next time if we have it during a crowded time I may make 2 ressies so
that we have flexibility and then cancel once things get closer.
We did some shopping at DTD, loved all of the costumes they had. Sorry DD but you can't get the $60 Belle costume, no matter how cute it looks on you :( We
picked up a dalmation pocketbook for DD and some Christmas ornaments for our
tree.
Back to the hotel, tomorrow Typhoon Lagoon!
