Stacey C. & Family- October 2006

Our trip to WDW Oct.6-14

Sorry its taken me ages to throw together a trip report since we got back from the world. Unfortunately I dont have the gift of writing like so many of you here but bear with me and I will do the best I can. For those of you who don't remember we took my friends daughters, this was their very first trip to Disney and a dream come true for them.

Wed Oct 4-my friend Lisa dropped off her 2 girls and to say they were excited is an understatement!I think they finally fell asleep around midnite only to have me wake them 2 hours later. We were off for the long journey from New Jersey by 2:00 in the morning. The kids slept until around 7 the next morning which was great. The ride was going smoothly until I started not feeling so well,by the time we got into Virginia my stomach hurt so much I ended up in an ER.To make a long story short I had a UTI so the Dr gave me something for pain and an antibiotic and we were back on the road again. The few hours in the hospital didnt really put us off...only that we arrived in Savannah,Georgia at 7:00 pm rather than 4:00 that we anticipated.

We grabbed Mc Donalds for the kids and checked into the Wingate.I love this hotel! The rooms are immaculate and large. They have a microwave and refrigerator as well which is great.

I got the kids up at 5 the next morning, got them dressed and back in the van but the van wouldnt start!Thats when I noticed the light in the back that one of the kids left on all night...the battery was dead. So Nic got the guy at the front desk to give us a jump and we were on our way.

As soon as we got into Florida we popped in the Disney cd's and the kids were getting more excited by the minute,Part of Your World was playing when we pulled through the big Walt Disney World Sign and the kids were screaming "We're here,we're here!"

Fri.Oct 6-We arrived at POR and were checked in by 11:00.My daughter and her bf and our friends Dane and Kim and their kids arrived the night before so they were waiting for us in the front lobby. We got all our luggage out of our car and stuck it in their room so when we got back that night we only had to drag it over to our room which was right next door.

Next..OFF to MK! When we walked up Main Street and the girls saw the castle for the very first time their little faces were priceless, especially the little one :o) I was amazed at how empty the park was. This would be the quietest of any of the parks the entire week. Here is the first picture we took of the kids by the castle..it was around 1:00 in the afternoon..you can see how quiet it was.

We went to Caseys and had hot dogs and fries then headed into Tomorrowland and did Buzz,The Transit Authority twice, then the some went over to Space Mountain(not me I dont do coasters!) Then we took the kids over to Toon Town to get their faces painted, this is the first time Haylee ever had it done and she was pretty excited about it!

Then we went on Winnie the Pooh and Mickeys Philharmagic. Unfortunately after that I started not feeling well again so the kids stayed with our friends, my daughter and her bf and me,Nic and the baby went back to our room. The rest of them did Small World, Splash, Haunted Mansion, BTMR then they went to Chef Mickey for dinner. I was so sorry that I missed this meal. They had a fantastic time,a great ending to their first day in Disney, I only wish I was there to see it.

Sat.Oct 7-My Birthday and I feel alot better! We ate breakfast in the foodcourt then headed to Epcot. I forgot to mention that when I got in my room I had a birthday pin plus a card signed by the characters waiting for me, what a great suprise!

Anyway... when we got to Epcot we did Spaceship Earth... Haylee was a little scared to go on this..and this would be the beginning to us realising that she was scared to pretty much go on anything! But we kind of made her go on and she did fine once she realised it was slow. We walked around awhile then went to the Land and got fast passes for Soarin, we had lunch there..god I love the panini sandwiches they have there! After we went on the Land Boat Ride, the kids were amazed at how they grow the Mickey Pumpkins!

We still had more time to kill so we took the kids over to The Living Seas (or whats it called now?) we didn't do Turtle Talk because the line was ridiculously long so the kids just walked around and looked at all the fish.

The kids got ice cream then we went over to Soarin. This ride is the absolute coolest!! After that we did Test Track, then the kids did the non spinning version of Mission Space and my daughter and her bf did the spinning version. I didn't do either but next trip I plan to!

We took the kids over to Ice Station Cool and they had a blast trying all the drinks, one of the kids actually loved Beverly! We didn't do World Show Case today because we had 8:00 reservations at Fultons Crab House for my Birthday dinner.

We went back to the room around 6:00 and got ready then headed to DTD. Can I just tell you I LOVE this restaurant! Its was worth every penny and I think I just may have to go back their again next year! I ordered some kind of dinner for 2 with my friend Kim, it had a whole lobster, snow crab legs, king crab legs and asparagus YUM! Oh and we had lobster bisque for an appetizer that was out of this world.

We actually had quite a laugh here, when my baby was done with his meal a guy came over and asked if I wanted the baby's in a box? Well I just sort of stared at him because it sounded like he asked me if I wanted him to put the baby in a box! LMAO ok it WAS really funny at the time! Then the cook..at least I think it was one of the cooks came out and went up to Haylee (6 yr old) and he didnt say much...he just took a napkin and folded it up into a beautiful flower, then he asked Haylee for her hand and he said "Here is a flower for you princess, then when he pulled his hand away he had also put a hersheys kiss in her hand and then he said "And a kiss".. Ahhhhhh a little bit of magic for Haylee I was thrilled! I ordered the chocolate Creme Brule' for deset and it was delicious! They wrote Happy Birthday in chocolate on my dish it was awesome!

Sun. Oct 8- Animal Kingdom day! We had 10:00 reservations at Donalds Breakfastsaurus but we waited awhile to get in.The meal was good, the charaacters were a little rushed if you ask me. My son Jayden was in a mood and today Donald paid the price for it!

We went over to Dino land after and put the babys on the Triceratops spin then the bigger ones went onn Primereal Whirl. Then we went on Dinosaur, LOVE this ride! My 10 yr old son refuses to go on it. I think I ruined him because when he was 5 I took him on the Jurrasic Park ride in IOA and he was traumatised!lol

We headed over to Everest and half of us went on(again not me,I don't do coasters!) the fast passes ran out so they got in the single rider line. After that we did the Kali River ride...NOT a hit with Haylee!lol The kids got ice cream then we headed to The Festival of the Lion King. This was the absolute best cast Ive seen yet!My daughter Crystal(23) cries from the beginning to the end of this show! lol Sierra got chosen to go down with all the kids by one of the stilt guys and she said no!OH NO!!! She felt funny she said...oh well :o( We headed back to the hotel after that and ate dinner in the food court then we realxed by the pool and the kids swam for hours.

Mon. Oct. 9-We decided to just eat cereal in the room, then we went to MGM. My friends daughter threw up half the night so they stayed back for awhile and they met us there later. This would be the beginning of us all (well most) getting very, very sick. We went and saw Beauty and the Beast right away then my daughter and her bf did R&R and we went to the Little Mermaid show. By the time we got out of the show little Emily felt better so our friends met us in the park. The kids wanted turkey legs then we went on Great Movie Ride. Kim kept her hands over Hayless eyes on the Aliens part..other than that she did good!

The kids went on Start Tours then we went to Hollywood and Vine for dinner. We had the nastiest waitress. She tried to cram all of us at this small table,im telling ya there was no way we could have fit, so when we told her we couldn't all fit there she got really nasty so we complained and we got a new table and she whistled a different tune after that and couldn't appologise enough. Dinner was ok, it didnt seem as good to me as usual for some reason though...maybe it was just me.

After we ate the kids wanted to go on Star Tours again then we went and got seated for Fantasmic. I think this will always be my absolute favorite show in Disney! My daughter also cried during this, as soon as the boats start coming by with the princesses she is done for! lol After Fantasmic we went on TOT! Woo Hoo my favorite ride in Disney!! The kids chickened out and wouldnt go on so it was just 5 of us. Then the others went back on R&R and we headed back to the hotel.

Tues. Oct. 10- Tonite is MNSSHP so we decided to eat in the hotel then hung out by the pool until the afternoon, the kids grabbed a quick bite for lunch then we went back to our rooms to get ready for the party. I got Haylee ready first, being a hairdresser really comes in handy when it comes to the princess thing because if I do say so myself little Haylee's hair came out gorgeous!

My daughter as always was an incredible Tinkerbell! Everyone was commenting on how much she looked like her and during the party she even had a few families that asked her if she would pose in some pictures with their kids.

We got to MK around 6 and went over to Cosmic Rays to eat, 2 of the Dream Team guys commented on what a great Tink Crystal was and gave her 2 pins, one for her to keep and the other for her to spread some magic and give to someone else. After dinner we did a little trick or treating then Crystal saw an adorable little girl dressed as Tink so she gave her the pin, she was thrilled :o) We found a great seat to watch the parade..all I can say is WOW! I LOVED this parade! The Haunted Mansion float and the dancing Gravediggers and Ballroom Dancers were my favorite!

We did some more trick or treating,we couldnt believe how much candy they were handing out!The lines moved very quickly which was great. We wanted Haylee to get her picture taken in front of the coach so we stood in the long line that moved amzingly fast..I think we waited about 20 minutes. After that we went on Pirates twice. This was the first time we went on it since they did the rehab and it was fantastic!I loved the Davy Jones thing at the beginning..soooo cool! And Captain Jack?? yum, nuff said ;oP

The night went very quick,we grabbed Dole Whips then headed for the bus. What a great night! Here is a picture I took of the whole gang. Well the ones that dressed up I mean!

Wed. Oct. 11- We had early reservations for the Princess breakfast in Norway, it was also DH's birthday so he wore his birthday pin..no doubt to get the attention of the princesses which he did! I put Haylee's gown back on and threw her hair up..shes sooooo excited to meet the princess's..she waited 8 months for this!

As soon as we walked in the girls (and the baby) got their picture taken with Belle..the baby didn't do to well with that lol! Breakfast was ok..pretty basic but the Princesses were just beautiful. The first one was Ariel and she asked Haylee her name and called her "Princess Haylee" WELL...that was all she talked about after..how Ariel said her name. I think this was the highlight of my trip, seeing her little face when she saw the princesses.. she was in awe. :o)

DH seemed to also really enjoy this breakfast..I can't imagine why though?;oP The waitress brought him over a cookie for his birthday and a birthday card signed by all the princesses. After breakfast we walked around World Showcase, I enjoy shpping there more than anywhere else in Disneyworld! The kids got their faces painted yet again! Big Dane felt sick so he went to First Aid and layed down for a few hours then went back to the room..he lucked out and felt better by that night though. We were supposed to eat in Marakesh but we have now learned not to make dinner reservations during the Food and Wine festival! We really enjoyed picking all day and boy were we full!

Thurs. Oct 12- This is when things went bad..the baby woke up in the middle of the night throwing up and then Zakk followed. A few hours later I followed..this was the absolute worse stomach virus that I have ever had, I felt so bad for my boys..not only were they stuck in a hotel room in Disney but they were in so much pain...it was awful :o( By dinner time DH had it too. SO far Sierra who was in our room didnt have it..I kept praying to god "Please dont let these girls get sick they may never get to go again". My daughter and her bf and Dane and Kim took their 2 kids and the girls to Animal Kingdom and we stayed in the room all day and died. Nic managed to get some Pepto before he got sick but it didn't help. The boys continued to throw up until the following morning,I stopped but the stomach pains were still so bad.The girls were still OK!

Fri. Oct 13- This was supposed to be our big all day Magic Kingdom day..but we were just to sick :o( Zakk was crying because he wanted to go so bad. My heart broke for him. Miraculously the girls were still ok..so all the others went to MK and the 4 of us spent another day in our room. By around 5:00 me and Zakk were a little better so he had a bath and I took him down to the arcade..he still felt yucky but he did enjoy the arcade. We walked around the gift shop a little afterwards. They got in late that night, they managed to do all the rides they wanted to do, saw Spectro and Wishes. Tomorrow we go home :o(

Sat. My daughter and her bf, our 2 friends and their kids headed to Epcot, they had a night flight so they had an extra day..we were driving with our boys and the girls..the baby was still throwing up. We had hoped to go to the Marketplace today but our stomachs were still not ready to do any kind of walking. The girls got tons of souveiners already and grabbed alot of last minute stuff in MK the night before, but I took them into the gift shop one last time then we headed to the car. Goodbye Walt Disneyworld :o(

As sick as I was somehow god answered my prayers and those girls did not get sick. This was a trip of a lifetime for them and I would have been devasted if they spent half their trip in a hotel room throwing up. I did feel sorry for myself somewhat because I missed so much but I know Im going back next year and am looking forward to it all the more now. As soon as my daughter and her bf got home they got the stomach thing and were sick for 2 days after.

A couple days after I got home I recieved this letter from my friend Lisa(the girls Mom):

I just really wanted to thank you guys for loving my girls so much that you gave them such a great experience. I was always worried that they would miss Disneyworld because I never knew when I would be able to bring them there myself, and they would be to old to really feel the magic of it that the are feeling now!! Just seeing the pictures of Haylee's face when she saw all of the princesses, I can't even begin to tell you how happy that made me! Sierra is just going on and on about the whole trip, they're both so happy! All of you really are the best friends anyone could ever hope to have in their life. I really need for you to know how much I love you guys and appreciate everything you have ever done for us! People ask how I survive without my family around and I always say that I have fabulous friends that make it alot easier. Just know that although I may not voice it often enough, everyday is easier because you guys are in our life. I really do love and appreciate every one of you, please know that, and thank you soooo much for giving Sierra and Haylee an experience that's going to stay with them forever!!

Love you,
Lisa

That letter meant more to me than you could ever know. I just had 100 pictures printed and I put them in a Disney album and Im giving it to the girls as part of their Christmas present this year.
