Day 1 - July 12, 2007
We left our house in the am and got to New Orleans around 8am. Our plane left around 9am., flight was uneventful. Got to airport and got in line for the ME. Short line, very little wait. Off to the Poly! The hotel was great! Our room was in the back :( but then we discovered that it was the closest room to the TTC where you can catch the Express monorail to Epcot! Yippee! The room was ready so, armed with my Happy Birthday button, off we go to Epcot. First stop, Figment ride. My DD6 loves this ride. Short line but oh my gosh was it ever HOT! (DH and I are both teachers and he coaches sports so summer is our only vacation time). Next, Honey I Shrunk the Kids. Once again, no line and this is a cool indoor show! LOL! I
always like the 3D movies with the effects (dog sneezing at you, etc)....off to the Universe of Energy for the Ellen Energy ride. We missed this in our previous 2 visits in 2005 and 2006. Short wait. DD6 didn't care for this one at all. The rest of the trip she kept asking me about every ride..."Is it like the Ellen ride??" LOL!
Off of Ellen, went to the Nemo ride. Eh. I really kinda expected a bit more from Disney to be honest. But it ws cute. There was a short line for this but really the whole trip we never waited more than 30 minutes in any line. That was a complete shock to me in July!
Time for dinner at Coral Reef. It was yummy! DH and I had the same thing - Land and Sea appetizer and the steak for an entree (we are on the dining plan). He had the citrus creme brulee for dessert (SO GOOD!) and I had the Baileys and Jack Daniels mousse. They brought it with a special chocolate ribbon thing that said Happy Birthday on it. We watched the scuba divers in the aquarium tank for a while and went back to the hotel for the evening. Since our room was right by
the TTC, we walked for maybe 2 minutes and we were there. The Poly is so beautiful especially at night.
