Danielle & Family - May 2007

Trip Report - May 1-8, 2007
Who: Danielle(mom) Paulo(dad) Nakyah(our 6 yr old daughter) Desmon(our 3 yr old son)

Day 8 - May 8, 2007

We decided to take it easy today. We didn't though. How can you there is so much to do. We decided to go back to AK today. We saw Wes Palm when we came in. My son had a conversation with him which was cute.

We then went in and went right to Africa. We were getting our faces painted today. We wanted to do it first thing. Paul got Tribal, I got a butterfly and flower, my daughter was a cheetah, and my son a lion. They do such a good job on the face painting. Their prices prove it. We paid $54 for this. I would never spend this, I think it is crazy, but we figured it was our last full day. We then hung out in Africa and watched one of the music acts for a little while.

Our plan was to go to Rafikis Planet Watch so we headed over there. This was fun and educational. We met Rafiki and Pocahantas here. The talking garbage can was here as well. We did affection section too. This was really cute and we do not have anything like it at our parks at home. We stayed there about 20 minutes andthen headed back.

We went back to Africa to eat at the Tusker House for lunch. I did not like this restaurant, probably due to the fact that the turkey sandwhich is only half a sandwich and it had something in it I was not expecting, I do not even know what it was. My family was not crazy about it either. Although Paul thinks that disney has great baked beans. It was after lunch that I realized I had lost my disposable camera. I was os upset. I am obsessed with pics so this was awful. We back tracked a little, but I did not want to waste the day looking for it either so I got the lost and found number and we went on with the day. I had another camera thankfully.

We watched another show on the street of Africa that was really entertaining. We headed to Pocahantas and friends show after since we hadnt the last time we were at AK. When this show was over it was about 2:30 so we jumped on a bus to our hotel got into our bathing suits and got on the bus for typhoon Laggon.

We originally had no plans to do the water parks but then decided to try it all while we were here. We got to Typhoon Lagoon at 3:30. We rented a locker because it was the end of the day they only charged us 7 instead of 12 and we stillgot the 5 back at the end. Paul did Crush n gusher. We all did cast a way creek. The water park was not busy at all. They have a great play are for the kids. Paul did 2 other water slides while we were at the play area.Gangplank Falls is there family slide so we all did this together. This is a calm ride, but you do get very wet, mostly from falling water. Paul also did Humunga Kowabunga. We checked at the shark reef and then it was time to go they close at 6pm.

We had reservations for Boma so wee took the bus straight to Animal Kingdom Lodge. We got there at 6:40 and our reservation wasnt until 7:20. We checked in and waited and got seated at 7:35. Boma was excellent. I love trying new food so it was an experience. The zebra domes are excellent. They have food for kids and fussy eaters as well. I strongly recommend Boma.

We took a bus to MK since that was the only park open when we left Boma. We then got on our bus to ASM. This was alot of traveling, but it was pretty much worth it. We went to the hotel and took showers, we packed up all our stuff since tomorrow would be our last day. We decided we would go to blizzard beach so we packed one bag that we would use for our stuff and it would also be our carryon. We went to bed around 11 a little sad that this would be our last night at the disney house (thats what my kids call it)
