Who: Marie & Family
When: November 6 - 13, 2007
Day Four November 9, 2007
Okay our cellphones haven't stopped since we got up at 6. The kids
always remember questions they needed to ask just hours before their
flight. They let us know they will be in around 11 and then we can
all settle in to get ready for our move tomorrow.
John and I head to the pool bar again for a drink to get ourselves
settled about what we were going to do (as if there was something
different we were doing). We headed to the bus stop and off to Epcot
again (could you tell we like the F & W Fest?).
We headed to World Showcase but this time started in Canada so John
and I could start off with Cheddar Cheese soup and he had his Salmon
and I had the maple custard. As we headed out of Canada, John decided
he wanted to do some shopping. His family is originally from Canada
so he likes to look around and see if he can get something Canandian
every trip. He realized we had everything he liked so off we go.
While heading to France, I told him I was ready for champagne so we
went in and had a Kir Royale (Champagne with Creme de Casis). It
looked like sparkling grape juice. I enjoyed it but not as much as my
Rosa Regale.
We went to China. There I bought my dad a Buddha (he has alzheimers
but he loves those buddhas so I get him one every trip).
Of course' we bought pins but that goes without saying. John doesn't
trade his, he puts them on his hats and he only gets certain ones so
he has a special memory from each trip.
We headed back to hotel to eat dinner and relax before the mayhem starts.
At 8 pm I got a text from my daughter Holli telling me they were
delayed so I called the airline to find out they took off 45 minutes
late. I kept calling to find out when they were landing and just as I
got the information from the airline Holli texted me to say Roger was
waiting for them. Roger brought our friends to their hotel and then
brought the kids to us. He told us he would see us in the morning
because June was arriving at 11 and then we were switching hotels
(instead of getting a grocery stop we have Sunray take us to our new
hotel).
The little ones were overexcited so it was hard to get them to go to
bed at 11:30 pm so we could be checked out on time. We packed all the
suitcases in the corner and laid down for a nice rest.
Day Five November 10, 2007
Today starts the real fun!! As I stated in my last report the majority of
our gang showed up on the 9th. Well, this is the day June arrived from
Virginia. She moved two weeks before the trip so we hadn't seen her in two
weeks. Her flight arrived early and Bob from Sunray called my cell to
apologize that Roger wasn't there on time but the flight arrived a half hour
early.
After June arrived we all went to the Saratoga Springs Resort to check in to
our two bedroom villa. There were 8 of us going in. John signed for the
room after an hour of confusing the poor CM who had her very first check-in
on her own with us (Rose did a fine job by the way) they told us our room
wouldn't be rady until after 4. We got a wheelchair because by this time in
the trip I was not able towalk for a long period of time. We headed off to
Epcot.
While in Epcot we went straight to Soarin'. After that we headed to the
countries (still had the F&W going on). The kids looked forward to the
chance to try some foods from the festival. We started in Mexico and took
the kids on the Mexcio ride (the little ones loved Donald). June purchased
passports for Kara and Zara. We just walked around the countries and
stopped when we felt like snacking. Of course, we had to go to Italy for
some Rosa Regale. We went to France and watched the guys with the chair
act. They had me put my foot on the rope and when I didn't take it off right
away the guy made a motion to John that I just don't listen. John told him
he was right. After that we went to a few other countries and at dinnertime
headed back to England. We had dinner at the Rose and Crown. The kids (all
of them) were fascinated with Illuminations from our spot. When we finished
eating we headed out of the restaurant to leave only to find someone took my
wheelchair from in front of the restaurant. Lizzy went into the manager and
they got me a park wheelchair and called the gate to tell them I wsa
takingit back to the room to exchange for a new chair so I didn't get
charged for this one.
John and I got to the bus and the kids went to do some shopping in Mouse
Gear. When we got back to the room it was 10:45 pm, now is where the fun
starts. I callled Bell services and they didn't answer thier phone. Kept
calling for about a half hour and finally called the front desk. They
called bell services and got no answer so they texted them to call me back.
After about another half hour they called me. I told them we had 25 bags
and even described the ones that would be noticeable. Told them 20 came
from Port Orleans Riverside, 2 came from Old Key West and the last three
were delivered to bell services at 1 that afternoon. At around 2 am I
called them again and still got no answer so once again called the front
desk. The front desk texted them and they told her the truck was just
unloaded and they will bring my luggage up ASAP. Well, 2:30 there is a
knock at the door and it is bell services, only they had 20 bags. They told
me they were still looking for the other 5 that they must be on another
truck, Unfortunately, June's luggage was 3 of the bags that were missing
and those were the ones that were delivered by hand (no truck needed). I
opened the luggage for the little ones got out heir pajamas and sent them to
take showers and go to bed. In the meantime, the bellman took the
wheelchair from the park and told me he would bring me a new one when he
brought back the other bags. While waiting for him to come back we set up
our wake up call for 7 because we had ressies at Akershus for 9 in the
morning. Now the bellman returns with the other bags and no wheelchair.
When my daughter questioned him about it he said there are no more. Why he
didn't bring back the one from the park I had is still a mystery. We all
went to bed.
Hopefully, tomorrow is a better day.
