WHO?:Me 40 something - DH a tid bid younger
Thursday, October 18
Today we have to check out of our Beach Club room and head over the the
Boardwalk. We decide to just pack up all of our stuff and put it in the car
and then drive to the Boardwalk to check in. As luck would have it our room is
ready again! We are thrilled!! So, I go ahead and check in while my husband
gets someone to help him with our bags. Well, lo and behold we are in room
2001 which is the VERY LAST room on that floor! Just the walk from the room
to the lobby was a trip!
After we moved into the room and enjoyed our straight view to the Epcot Ball
from our balcony, we decided to head to WalMart for some groceries. We
spent the rest of the afternoon buying groceries, going to the outlets, etc.
We had lunch at Bennigan's and enjoyed that. Back to the room to unload our
bags etc and we decide to head to the pool. 2 Captain's Mai Tai's later, I'm
feeling pretty happy, but tired so we go back to the room.
I read Sue's trip report of the concert with Little Richard so I decided it was not something I wanted to see. I just can't imagine anyone behaving like that and I'm surely not going to watch that. So, we sat on the porch and enjoyed the early
evening.
We decided last minute to try out this new restaurant at the Swan and
Dolphin called IL MULINO that we had seen earlier when we were walking through
the hotels. We changed clothes as the restaurant is business casual and
walk over there. They sit us at a table and we order a few drinks and we each
get Chicken Parmesan. While enjoying our cocktails they seat a couple with a
small child at the table next to us. Then they sit another couple with a
child that appears to be about 10 at another table next to us. The people at
the second table all had NY Yankee shirts and hats on. Well, we are finally
served our meal which was excellent and way more food than anyone should eat.
So, as we eat and talk we begin hearing screeching from the toddler at the
next table. Then a salt shaker flies by, etc. At the same time, the NY
yankee table takes out a portable DVD player, puts in a movie and the girl puts
her bare feet up on the table while her parents take turns feeding her. I am
just in shock. Everyone is entitled to do what they want, I totally agree, but
to allow someone to put their dirty feet on the table in a public restaurant
during dinner is just aweful, in my opinion. Our bill comes and we pay it
and quickly leave. We had gotten a "to go" box with our leftovers and headed
back to our room for the evening. A little tv and to bed we go.
*** I don't hate kids, I have two and I am also from NY so I hope no one
things I'm slamming either group!!!
