WHO?:Me 40 something - DH a tid bid younger
Friday, October 19
Today we woke up, made ourselves a small breakfast and headed out to Epcot. We walked over, it is always such a nice walk, and headed to Soarin for a
fast pass. We got the fast passes and then road "The Land" ride which I always
enjoy because of the hydroponic gardens. We decide to walk around Epcot a
little until our Fastpass time which was about 2 hours from now and then we
notice this park is getting packed! Well, I have no desire to dodge people
constantly so we decide there must be something going on here, so we'll just
hop onto the monorail and head over to MK.
We get off of the monorail at the TTC to switch to the MK monorail and the line was a good 5 people wide and back outside the monorail entry way. Well, there is definitely something going on because we have never seen the monorail line that bad. Well, forget that.
Looks like this won't be a park day. So we walk to the Polynesian and check out the gift shops. Then we decide to take the bus from there to Downtown Disney and go to lunch at Captain Jack's. We get to the bus waiting area and wait awhile. And a while. We finally decide to take a cab so we ask a cabbie how much to DTD? SIXTEEN DOLLARS! Well forget that! We'll wait.
Thankfully, the bus came and we headed to DTD and got into Captain Jack's right away. I asked for the chowder and the waitress suggested I get the tuna
sandwich also as one of the options comes with the sandwich. I say that is
fine and my husband orders the crab cakes. The food comes and the chowder is really good. My husband pummels through the crab cakes, so obviously they are good. As for the tuna sandwich, yuck. I never order tuna sandwiches so I'm not
sure why I got talked into it this time, but it had that pickle juice in it
and that is just not my thing at all. So I just left the sandwich and finished
the chowder.
After lunch we decide to shop so we go and buy a bunch of stuff. Token
gifts for the kids, etc. We decide to head home because we have 5:40 dinner
reservations at Narcoosee's. The bus came fairly quickly and we got back to
the room and changed then got the car and went to the Grand Floridian. We walked
through the hotel which is always so beautiful and we see a wedding party.
I haven't mentioned it yet, but I have seen more weddings this trip than any
other trip. At the Boardwalk they have one after the other at Sea Breeze
point! They are all so beautiful. Anyway, back at Narcoosee's we get seated
by the window and order cocktails. Then I ordered the filet which is always
fabulous and DH ordered the "chefs recommendation" which was Black Grouper.
Our food arrives and it is absolutely superb!! My filet, ordered rare, was
great but the Black Grouper wins the prize! It was SO fresh and so tasty!!
Ironically, we originally had reservations for tonight at Flying Fish but
changed them because the FLying Fish doesn't have the mussels appetizer that my
husband wanted, but Narcoosee's did. So we changed restaurants. As we are
telling our server about our switch she tells us that the chef from the Flying
Fish just moved from there to Narcoosee's! So, we got the best of both
worlds! Boy was I glad we cancelled the FF, because our last experience there
wasn't good and I had no intention of going back, but my husband was a big fan
of their mussels. Well, now we have no reason to go back to FF.
After dinner, we head back to the hotel watch LMN and go sleep....
