WHO?:Me 40 something - DH a tid bid younger
Sunday, October 21
RAIN, RAIN, RAIN
Ugh, I guess I have been lucky in all of my trips because between the hot
and humid days and the rain today, this is the worst vacation weather I have
encountered at WDW. Anyway, We hung around the hotel today while it poured
rain. We read magazines, watched tv, etc.
The weather cleared and we decided to head over Animal Kingdom. We went and got fastpasses to the Safari and then went over to ride the Dinoland ride.
Afterwards we went shopping in the AK stores and waited for our Fast Pass time. We got on the Safari and it was nice, not alot of animals out, but enough to enjoy it.
After AK we headed over to MK as we had reservations at LTT. I have been there before but DH has not. I got the Pot Roast and he got a sandwich which was HUGE! He ate it all, tried my pot roast and liked it and then we headed out to check out the rides.
Forget it, still crowded. So we saw the "family" parade which I really liked! It is so nice to see all of the various age groups banging the tamborines, waving the hula hoops, etc. One man with the hula hoops was quite serious about his task and was doing a great job! That is what I love about WDW, these people come to enjoy themselves and don't worry about how "they look." At the end they all stood in a circle around the flag pole and sang Yankee Doodle Dandy and Your a Grand Old Flag. I sang right along and was surprised to learn that DH didn't know either song! How horrible! After that, we left and headed back to the hotel because we have ADR for California Grill tonight.
We changed and drove over to the Contemporary and were seated in a middle
table at CG, which I'm not crazy about. I like sitting with a wall or something next to me, I don't like sitting in the middle of the dining room at a little table, but they didn't ask me, so I will be fine here! I order filet and my husband orders the filet as well. As it is a la carte, you are not presented with too much food! I must say for the first time, service was awful. The server took our order, someone else brought our food, the server came by once and I asked for some "butter" and he came back with "water" and we never saw him again. The food was good, but it was not like our last visit here. Ironically we figured since we weren't on the DDP, the service would be better knowing that the tip was not included, however, the service was worse. Oh well, such is another dinner.
After dinner we head home and sit on the balcony with cocktails and watch
what will be our second to last Epcot fireworks show. Each night we have tried
to make it home by 9 to see the fireworks. We have a great view of the
higher ones from our room, so I'm really enjoying it.
After the fireworks, it is back inside and more LMN. Only one more day of LMN which I'm getting kinda sick of.
