I am there, we made it and is Florida ever HOT!
Day 1, Wednesday, we checked into French Quarter, and grabbed the boat to DTD. we did some shopping, and did something we have never done
before! We went to the Margarita Bar, grabbed a table and watched
boats on the lagoon with a couple of Rum Runners. Very tasty and relaxing!
Then we went to Fulton's for dinner. We have eaten there before and
the food was very good. We are on free dining so this is the only OOP
meal we had planned so we were going to splurge! We should have picked
somewhere else to splurge.
This time I would have to say it was the poorest meal and the worst
service we have had at Disney World ever! The service: we had to BEG
for coffee refills, and even then only got one. The waiter pooh-poohed
our first two choices so we ended up ordering what he recommended. The
Food: The lobster was fishy and small. The crab legs were awful. The
shells were soggy, they were very salty and VERY fishy. Horrible meal.
The waiter never brought the hot towel for our hands. The tab was $99
and we left a $10 tip and I hope the waiter is smart enough to figure
out he stunk, we didn't forget how to figure out 20%. He also refused
to take my AP for the 10% off, an entitlement listed on the AP perks
list. So we will probably not go back, and since Fulton's is a
Wolfgang Puck restaurant we are thinking of cancelling our November
reservation at Pucks in case it is awful too.
Day 2: Thursday. backstage Magic Tour. No time to talk much about it now but WOW. Worth the money, had a blast, and Mama Melrose lunch:
bellisima! Learned a lot!
Epcot for dinner at LeCellier. Food stellar, service plus plus! Left
her a big tip over the dining plan tip...she earned it! Saw
Illuminations and just as they shot the first firework up a huge clap
of thunder. The timing was amazing! And the skies immediately opened
like BUCKETS...it poured! Covered ourselves with the ponchos and
watched the show through the plastic. Wow, were we ever wet!
Day 3: Friday: Animal Kingdom, went on Everest (hubby went on a
coaster! YEAH!), Nemo Musical (fabulous as always!) Didn't do much
there as it was so hot I got kind of sick..so we left early and went
back to the resort to shower and cool off.
MNSSHP Friday evening was wonderful! Walked right on Haunted Mansion,
Pirates, etc, and the parade was fantastic, and Wishes...wow! No rain,
we were very fortunate!
Day 4: Saturday: Animal Kingdom to see Lion King then back to MK for dinner at Crystal Palace. Good food, great characters! Did a few
rides, saw Spectro and Wishes. Got stuck in CoP. Saw the Fourth of
July scene twice, and finally it moved. Hubby is not a big Disney fan,
and getting stuck in CoP didn't help.
Tomorrow is MGM (or whatever they're calling it these days). Skipping
Action Stunt show and Indy. Not sure what all we will do but Beauty
and the Beast and ToT are must do's. Have Fantasmic package so we will
see that too, weather permitting!
Well, 1:53 am and the alarm is set for 6:30 so I am going to go get
some sleep so I can tackle more tomorrow!
