First time visit for the kids and I to WDW

DAY 2:

Today we went to EPCOT. We got there right at the rope drop and went right over to the Nemo ride. I had to go back to the front of the park, so the kids and the in-laws rode it. Dh went and got some fast passes for Mission Space. Got back just in time to all ride it again. Then rode it again, LOL! Then off to Soarin'. After that we thought we'd head over and hit test track and Mission Space, but decided to do Character Connection instead. The kids had a ball with Mickey, Goofy, Chip and Dale, Pluto and Minnie. Then we went back for Turtle Talk, only the kids didn't quite make it, so Gale and Mark stood in line for the next show while Geri and I took the kids upstairs and looked around the aquarium. They got to see the feeding of the aquatic life, and learned all kinds of interesting facts about marine life. They did the kidcot activity and then back downstairs to see Turtle Talk. That was great!

Next was the imagination ride with Figment. That was cool. Over to Mission Space, where Micah was too short to ride. So we went into the simulation chamber and played the games for the launches. Then on to test track. I thought we were done with Future World, but no. Micah wanted to go on the Energy ride. Wow, 45 minutes! It was ok though, but I thought a bit too long.

Then on to the World Showcase. We hit Mexico, then it started to sprinkle. So we decided to get something to eat and wait the rain out. Then it started pouring! We were all good though, we didn't melt. The rain finally let up and we headed to Norway. Rode the Maelstrom ride, kids loved it. Then on to China and Germany where the kids got Dopey's autograph and pictures. Hit Italy next, but just cruised through it. America was next, and of course it started raining again. So we stuck around and watched the American Adventure Show. Micah lost his hat, so we had to go back in to find it. Got to Japan, when the kids decided they were tired, and we were hitting too close to our dinner reservation for the Grand Gathering Illuminations dinner and reception. So Micah and I started hitting the kidcot stations for the passport stamps and signatures. At Canada they saw the brother Bear characters. Then off for another ride at Soarin' before dinner.

Of course, it started to rain again and we were trekking through all the water that was accumulating on the walks and the people running to get out of the park when we were trying to get back into the World showcase for our dinner at the Odyssey building. Was a bit late, but not too bad. The food was ok, but the atmosphere was great! The kids really got into things and did the story time on the stage and then they danced with Minnie and Goofy. Jarod didn't feel too well, so he lay down on a couch and just watched and played with the My Pal Mickey that I bought on Sunday night. He ended up being ok enough to go to the Illuminations, but because it was raining, we ate dessert before we went (normally they serve it there in our reserved area). After Illuminations, we headed back for the bus and our resort. And of course, BED!

Tomorrow, Magic Kingdom!
