Sharon & Family - December 2008

Day 5

This is now thurs. no plans for any parks today, b/c I bought Cirque du Soil tickets for us as a surprise. And a special "fancy" dinner b/f the show.

We got up, headed to the pool (also went to the pool on tues, I thought the water was on the cool side, but weather was beautiful!!!). Went back to room to shower and dress (shower still working fine).Off to DTD.

Did some shopping/looking around. Did our bulk of shopping that day, so we can use the ship to resort (it was averaging about 2 days if you used this option instead of the next day).Did some xmas shopping and gifts just to bring back.

Had reservations at Fulton Crab House. I was excited about this. It's more up scale that we normally go to. But checked the menu out and the prices as well. figured what we would order b/f hand. Wanted to make this an extra special day for our 1st mommy/DD trip. We dressed up (still casual, nothing fancy or over the top). DD order off the kids menu fish, with white rice and corn. fish is a cod. one of her favorite all time meals. not many places serve white rice. she was tickled pink reading the menu(I of course knew this b/f hand). I ordered fish/chips (fries), again cod. How could I go wrong, we love this kind of dinner. Asked for a window table too look outside. get a window table around to the side/back. not very easy to see the water activities (no one was in there expect one other party, and there were not at the windows). Wasn't a very dinner appealling site. bird poop all over the rails, dirts, leaves, etc. not very pleasent to look at. So we chatted. dinner came, looked good. Although DD fish was not breaded, it still looked good. she liked mine better. It looked good, tasted not too good. her white rice was cold and hard. and her corn was cold, I swear they didn't even cook it, it was so cold. Again wish I was more assertive. And normally I would of sent it back, but I felt out of my league and uncomortable. We are the steak/potato lets eat peanuts and throw the shells on the floor resturant. Not the 3 forks and mulitple plates, type of people. Oh like I said I ordered the fish/chips, good. when I placed my order, and handed menu back, waitress asked if we wanted anything else appatizer, salad, we said no, then as she walked away, I had a change of heart, and really wanted a good house salad. She brought it out, and it wasn't like any salad I ever had. These big purple and green leaves, that had a "funny" taste, so I picked at it, only 1 partial tomato slice, think maybe a couple of croutons, no eggs, cheese, nothing just leaves. again didn't send it back or complain. Needless to say, we both just wanted out of here, no dessert, wanted the bill. It was HUGE, more than I thought. and paid over $6.00 for the lettuce. with the tip (which wasn't huge) was almost $40.00. We went early for the lunch menu, prices were less than for dinner. For 1 childrens meal, 1 lunch of fish/chips, 2 sodas, and a salad. WOW. Talk about my bubble bursting again!!!! I've got this sinking feeling. It was our extra special day not starting so great, hoping not more to come.

Headed over to Cirque du Soil. Now I called them way back in Sept to buy our tickets. We really wanted to see it, but tickets are on the pricy side. But since it was the two of us, DH said go ahead. So we got the 2nd most expensvie section (most expensive was floor, and I didn't want floor seats). I spent a long time talking to the lady to buy our tickets. 1st call, they could only give us "best available" she couldnt' give a specific seats. Well they sucked. I was looking online at the areas, I don't know whre they were best avaliable. I said I'm not spending this kind of $$ if I can't pick my seats. (i could understand if the seats were already bought, but not computer picked seats). they were not my best seats. So she gave me another number, and the lady was so helpful. we checked this and that, she said no to this, yes better seats here, so we bought these 2 tickets. the row only had 3 seats in it, so chances of someone just buying that 1 left over seat, slim.(sure enough no one did) come to find out, right next to the "control" booth/area. Spent $200.00 for these 2 tickets. Well let me tell you all, it was a GREAT show. Completley blew ourminds away. We seen previews b/f. but it was great. Not too many "bad" seats in the place, not sure if i needed the level we bought, maybe could of dropped down a level to save some $$, but we LOVED our seats. the booth, we didn't even know was there during the show. DD started to get drowsy b/c it was dark (and it's been a very busy week)other than the stage. Gave her a chocolate sucker we bought for stocking stuffers for familiy memebers, to give her a pick me up. Spend $200 for her to take a nap, I don't think so.lol I wish they weren't so much, but the show was worth it. I also wish the show lasted a bit longer. about 1hr 45min I'm guessing.

Left there, walked around a bit, DTD at night, never been there b/c. Had to buy some more chocolate suckers to replace the other ones. shopped some more. and headed back to room. Wanted to be to bed at a reasonable hrs. b/c tomorrow is Epcot. LONG day ahead for us.

Again buses going back were horrible. Long waits, crowed, many stops. but buses going to parks hardly any wait. No one on bus when they get to Movies, no other stops. very quick!!!

Only 3days left of our trip. other than dinner, a GREAT day. I'll finish up tomorrow.
