The Walt Disney World Resort offers more than just theme parks. The Resort offers a multitude of unique recreation activities that appeal to many vacation desires including fishing, horseback riding, tennis, and even archery.
Fishing Excursions
Guided Fishing Excursions – Select Resorts
Includes fishing equipment, rod, reel, artificial bait, shiners (live bait), non-alcoholic beverages, and an experienced guide. Guests can choose between 2-hour and 4-hour excursions. However, while guests can bring their own fishing equipment, they may not bring their own food, beverages, or coolers. Pontoon boats can accommodate up to 5 guests. Make reservations 60 days in advance by calling 407-WDW-FISH (939-3474) and are required 24 hours in advance.
Guests must provide a credit card or resort ID at the time of the reservation but will pay after the excursion. Guests failing to show or who do not cancel with at least 24-hour notice will be charged in full. All excursions are catch and release. Children age 12 and under must wear a Personal Flotation Device. Guest under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Bass Nitro Fishing Excursions – Select Resorts
Guided fishing excursion on a tournament style Bass boat is available for more experienced anglers. Includes guide, fishing equipment, rod, reel, artificial bait, and non-alcoholic beverages. While guests can bring their own fishing equipment, they may not bring their own food, beverage, or coolers. Nitro Bass boat can accommodate up to 3 guests. Reservations can be made 60 days in advance by calling 407-WDW-FISH (939-3474) and are required 24 hours in advance. Guests must provide a credit card or resort ID at the time of reservation, but they will pay after the excursion. Guests who fail to show up or do not cancel at least 24 hours in advance will be charged in full.

Rod and Pole Fishing
Rod or Pole Fishing – Port Orleans Resort – Riverside and Fort Wilderness
All fishing at Walt Disney World Resort is catch-and-release only.
Guests can enjoy traditional cane-pole fishing at the Fishin’ Hole on Old Man Island at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside.
You can enjoy rod fishing off the dock at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Rent rods and bait from the Bike Barn.

Horseback Riding and Pony Rides
Horseback Riding – Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
Guests 9 years of age and up can ride through a woodland teeming with deer, ducks, armadillos, and rabbits. This ride is perfect for beginner and intermediate riders, and is a great way to explore the natural beauty of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. We recommend making reservations, and you must wear closed-toe shoes. Riders must be over 48 inches tall and weigh under 250 pounds. Check-in is located at the entrance of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Check the My Disney Experience app for reservations. Guests must provide a credit card at the time of reservation. Most importantly, if they fail to show up or do not cancel at least 24 hours in advance, they will be charged in full.
Horseback riding will be unavailable Monday through Friday beginning on July 13, 2024 due to construction. During this time, rides on Saturdays and Sundays will still be available.

Know Before You Go
- Horseback riding is a physically demanding recreational activity. Horses by nature may react if frightened or agitated during the ride. Be prepared for sudden stops, starts, or movements by the horse at any time.
- You are required to maintain control of your horse and always follow guide instructions.
- Riders should be in good physical condition and free from neck, hip, or back problems, as well as any conditions that could interfere with balance or be aggravated by this activity.
- Helmets are required and provided for all riders regardless of age.
- All Guests must sign a waiver prior to the ride. A parent or legal guardian must sign for participants under 18 years old.
- Participants must be 9 years of age or older and at least 48 inches (122 cm) tall.
- Participants must weigh under 250 lbs. and Guests of certain body shapes or sizes may not be able to participate. Weight will be verified on a scale at the time of check-in.
- Recommended attire includes shorts or pants and a comfortable shirt. Guests must wear shoes with a back strap and avoid skirts or dresses.
- Complimentary lockers for your belongings will be provided. Guests cannot carry anything while on horseback.
- Please check in at the Tri-Circle-D Ranch building near the front parking lot of Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground at the reservation time.
- Allow up to 1.5 hours to get to your destination when traveling within Walt Disney World Resort.

Disney may cancel Trail Rides due to inclement weather, but they do occur in rain and cold.
- There is a 1-day cancellation policy. Guests will be charged the full price or forfeit the amount if they cancel within one day or fail to show up for the reservation.
Pony Rides – Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
Pony rides are offered daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. near Pioneer Hall at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Riders must be at least 2 years of age, under 80 pounds, no taller than 48 inches, and able to hang on by themselves. Most importantly, a parent or guardian must lead the pony at all times. Tri-Circle accepts cash payments only.

Carriage & Wagon Rides
Carriage Rides – Several Locations
Relax on a horse-drawn carriage ride through lush woodlands or scenic riverbanks at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground or Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside. You might spot wildlife like rabbits, ducks, and deer, especially around dusk. Carriages accommodate 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 small children, with smaller ones for 2 adults and 1 small child available at Fort Wilderness. Make advance reservations through the My Disney Experience app and use a credit card. Cancel 24 hours in advance to avoid charges. Walk-up guests may be accommodated if carriages are available and can pay with cash or room charges, but not credit cards. Guests may bring their own beverages, though bad weather might cancel the rides.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
The first ride is at 5:30 p.m.; the Last ride departs at 9:30 p.m.

Wagon rides – Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground
Take an old-fashioned, horse-drawn wagon ride on a scenic tour through Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Available on a first-come, first-served basis, wagon rides depart nightly at 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. (weather permitting) from the front of Pioneer Hall. On select nights, firework rides depart at 8:30 p.m., replacing the regular 8:30 ride, and offer a view and audio of the Magic Kingdom fireworks when held.

Group wagon rides for up to 30 adults or a combination of 35 adults and children cost $300 per hour and are available with 24-hour notice by calling (407) 824-2832.
Fort Wilderness Archery Experience
Archery Lessons plus target shooting are available at the Bike Barn at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Guests 7 years of age and up can learn how to hold and fire a compound bow—then it’s time for target practice! Most importantly, guests will spend most of this 90-minute experience firing at range targets. With class sizes limited to 10 Guests, each marksman receives personalized advice from the Archery Guides. We recommend making reservations up to 60 days in advance. Walk-ups are welcome as space permits, and family and friends who prefer to watch may do so from a designated viewing area located a safe distance from the archers. Tennis
Tennis courts are available at 7 Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Guests can access the courts on a first-come, first-served basis, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. However, hours may vary by location, and courts may occasionally be booked for lessons or events. However, any Guest of a Walt Disney World Resort hotel may access the tennis courts, and equipment can be obtained using your Key to the World card or a valid Resort ID. In addition, Disney Vacation Club members may check out equipment free of charge; for all other Guests, an associated fee applies. Guests must wear appropriate tennis attire and shoes.

Volleyball courts can be found at 8 Walt Disney World Resort hotels. You’ll find well-groomed, white-sand courts at 8 locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort, and a water volleyball court at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel. Any guest of a Walt Disney World Resort hotel can access the volleyball courts, and they can obtain equipment using a valid Resort ID.Disney Vacation Club members may check out equipment free of charge; for all other Guests, an associated fee applies.

Golf, Footgolf & Miniature Golf
Golf
Walt Disney World is home to four golf courses: Disney’s Palm Golf Course, Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course, Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, and Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course. These are championship-level courses. The Palm Course is home to the Arnold Palmer PGA classic annually. Likewise, guests can schedule a tee time or take a class with a PGA professional. Discounts are available depending on season and time of day. There are also discounts for Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club members, Florida Residents, and the Military.
FootGolf
FootGolf opened at Walt Disney World’s Oak Trail Golf Course in early 2018. This course features 18 holes and the American FootGolf League certifies that fact. The current fee is $25 -$29 (depending upon date; cost is 25% less per junior under 18 years old) per adult for 9 holes. Guests can expect to complete this course in about 2 hours and 15 minutes. The course is suitable for the whole family to play so that everyone can have fun together. Tee times can be booked online or by calling (407) WDW-GOLF.
Guests can bring their own soccer ball (regulation #5) or rent from Disney. Golf attire is expected. Shoes can be indoor or turf soccer shoes or regular running shoes.
Miniature Golf
Disney World is home to 2 miniature golf courses: Winter Summerland and Fantasia Gardens. Pricing is $19.00 for adults and $12.00 for children under 10. Discounts are available. For more information visit our page on Miniature Golf in Walt Disney World.
Boating
Guests can rent a boat for Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon outside of the Magic Kingdom.
Kayak or Canoe Rental: $15.00 per hour
- One guest must be at least 18 years of age for Kayak rental

Motor Boat Rentals
- Sun Tracker Pontoon Boat – $49.00 per half hour – 10 guests
Drivers must be 18 years of age. There are maximum weight limits for each boat (Pontoon maximum is 1,900 pounds). Guests under 12 must wear a life jacket. Guests must be 18 years of age to rent a boat.
