Walt Disney World has ended Theme Park Reservations for Date-Based Tickets in 2024. If you’re purchasing tickets all you need to do is just purchase tickets and then go! You can visit any of the four Walt Disney World theme parks on any day. Do keep in mind that for other admission types that aren’t date-based tickets, a theme park reservation may be required still to help manage attendance. (IE Walt Disney World Annual Passholders will still need to make reservations.)
Below is what needs to be done for those who do not have date-based tickets.
How to Book Your Disney Park Pass Reservations
Guests who do need to make theme park reservations must have both a park reservation AND valid admission for the same park on the same date. These reservations and tickets are required for each person in your party ages 3 and up.
Those who are staying at a Disney Resort, as well as at other select hotel Guests who have valid theme park admission can make reservations for their length of stay. Those who are Annual Passholders can make theme park reservations for up to 5 days at a time, depending on the type of pass you have, AND for those who may have additional resort stays, they may also make Park Pass reservations for their length of stay if staying at a Disney Resort or other select hotel.
How It Works
Here’s how to use the Disney Park Pass system:
Step 1: Confirm Your Admission Is Linked to Your Disney Account
First, Guests will need valid park admission that’s linked to your Disney account. Sign in to your My Disney Experience account, which is where your Walt Disney World plans are stored and managed. If you do not have a Disney account, you’ll need to create an account. Be sure that your current address is reflected in your Disney account. Then, confirm that your valid admission is linked to your Disney account. If it’s not, you’ll need to link your admission. All Guests in your party must also have valid park admission linked to their profile, as well. For those staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you’ll need to confirm that your Disney Resort hotel reservation is linked to your Disney account as well. If it’s not, you’ll also want to link that reservation.
Step 2: Create Your Party
When you begin to make a Disney Park Pass reservation, you’ll be prompted to create your party from your Family & Friends list. You will need to select the family and friends you’d like to include in your vacation, then select “Continue”. If you don’t see someone in your travel party? Select “Add a Guest” to include them. You may need to make more than one Disney Park Pass reservation for your party depending on your admission type. Please make sure your party consists of Annual Passholders or theme park ticket holders. For those who are staying in a Disney Resort or other select hotel with a package that includes tickets, you’ll want to make sure that everyone in your party also has a hotel reservation. If this isn’t the case, you will need to make separate Disney Park Pass reservations.
Step 3: Select a Date and Park
Choose the date and the theme park that you’d like to visit from the reservations that are available. Keep in mind that that dates and theme park selections are limited and subject to availability.
After creating your party in the Disney Park Pass system, you’ll be prompted to:
- Select a Date: View a calendar and choose one of the available dates for your visit.
- Select a Theme Park: Park hours will be displayed for your convenience.
- Select a Time: This is the time that you can visit the park.
- After selecting your date, park and time, you can confirm your reservation.
Step 4: Review and Confirm Your Plans
Guests will want to carefully review and confirm your selected park and date. If you noticed something is wrong and you need to make any changes, select “Back” to revise your selections. Before confirming, you’ll also need to agree to the Terms & Conditions, including the COVID-19 liability waiver. Then, select “Confirm” to complete your park reservation. Once confirmed, your reservation will appear in My Plans.
If you want to make another park reservation, you’ll select “Make Another Reservation” to continue planning. Your new reservation(s) will appear in My Plans.
For those who may need to cancel a Walt Disney World theme park reservation made with the Disney Park Pass system, view your daily itinerary in My Plans, then select “Reservation Details”.
Mouse For Less Tips
- Reservations are limited and subject to availability and are not guaranteed until a reservation is finalized.
- A park reservation must be made for each day of entry, unless it is after 2:00 p.m. If it is after 2:00 p.m., you can enter any park. The exception to that is the Magic Kingdom on a Saturday or Sunday. If you are looking to enter the Magic Kingdom on the weekend, you will still need to have a theme park reservation.
- It is recommended that you make your park reservation as soon as you can, as availability can change until the reservation is finalized.
- Guests who purchase the Park Hopper option can park hop at any time.
