Not everyone is lucky enough to be able to afford a six, seven or eight day stay at Walt Disney World. Sometimes you lucky to be able to squeeze in a three to five day stay. But what if you only one day? How would you spend it?
Last year we actually did that and I wrote about it here on the MFL blog but that was one day where we were going to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and we killed time in Downtown Disney and sight-seeing at the Grand Floridian. I loved how it felt like we did more than one part because we were all over the Disney property but what if you did and ultimate Disney in a day?
If you were armed with a park hopper pass and access to the parks from say 8 a.m. until eleven p.m. what would you do? Would you spend it all in one park maybe two? Or would you go wild and try to hit all four theme parks in a day? On a good day during one of our stays, we have been known to hit three parks. It’s usually our last day and we hop around to hit all of our favorites. But a full day? Full access? What would that day look like to you?
For me, my day would start early at Magic Kingdom because it is my favorite! I would do Space Mountain and Buzz Lightyear and then head over to Adventureland to ride Pirates before doing Frontierland with Splash and Big Thunder Mountain. If I had been able to use a FastPass here or there and was okay on time, I would hit the Haunted Mansion.
I’d exit the park after grabbing a muffin or something yummy from the Main Street Bake Shop and hop the monorail over to Epcot where I would have to ride Test Track and then Soarin – anything other than that I think I can pass on (I still don’t have the stomach for Mission Space and I’m way too claustrophobic!). I would maybe grab a sandwich at the Sunshine Seasons food court on my way out. I would, however, exit through World Showcase (the right hand side) and grab the boat right outside of that entrance over to Hollywood Studios.
Running like there was no tomorrow, I would get in line for Rock N Roller Coaster and after we finished there and the adrenaline was still pumping, I’d skip right over to the Tower of Terror. Grabbing a big salted pretzel (because they are my favorite) I would run over and ride Toy Story Mania. After that, I would feel like my day is complete there.
I would hop a bus over to Animal Kingdom which by this point in the day would be close to closing time, and do a quick run on Expedition Everest, Dinosaur and then allow myself to get soaked on the Kali River Rapids. After that, I think I could relax for a little while and I’d hop a bus back over to Magic Kingdom because I want to see their nightime show on the castle and when that was done, I’d jump on that monorail one more time for Illuminations at Epcot.
By that time I’d be ready to drop but it would be the BEST $85 spent on a ticket. Sure, I’d probably need to sleep for a week but the memories? Priceless!
