- Disney is introducing Radio Frequency tickets that can be purchased at Vacation Planning or Guest Relations locations. These new tickets can be used at both regular turnstiles, as well as at the new touch point entryways that are popping up at the main entrances to the parks. These new RFID tickets will be good for single or multi-day tickets. The tickets will still work like current ticket media. Guests will still be able to obtain FASTPASS tickets at FASTPASS locations. The new tickets will be made of hard plastic instead of the current paper ones. For guests who do not have RFID issued tickets, they will still be able to use the regular turnstiles. These new tickets will be rolled out to all the parks by today.
- Disney has released some new information about the California Grill refurbishment. When the space reopens, it will features whites, greys, and light wood with pops of color. Guests will still get to enjoy the fabulous views of the Magic Kingdom while they dine. In addition to the new design of the restaurant, the menu will also see a redo. Menu items will include a 24 hour braised beef short rib with truffle mashed potatoes and a puff pastry with veggies; Pork Two Ways which will feature wood fired tenderloin with goat cheese polenta and braised lacquered pork belly and country applesauce; new sushi options like a spicy Kaza roll with tuna, shrimp, scallops, a tempura crunch and fireball sauce; and a sea urchin Nigiri with soybean paper, salmon roe, and grated wasabi root.
A couple of Limited Time Magic Events got released:
- Today, the Magic Kingdom will host a ticker-tape pre-parade featuring Joe Flacco, MVP from the Baltimore Ravens. The parade kicks off before the Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade. In addition, until Feb. 9, guests will get to enjoy “Souper” Bowls of lobster bisque and tomato basil bisque at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.
- From Feb. 11 – 17, guests at the Magic Kingdom will get in the spirit of Love as Disney celebrates True Love Week. The park will be adorned with heart shaped decor and festive banners. In addition, the castle will be bathed in pinks, reds, and lavenders each night. Guests will have the opportunity to meet some of the Disney princesses with the princes and special photo spots will pop up, including one with Cinderella’s Coach by the New Fantasyland castle wall. For guests looking for a romantic meal, select restaurants will offer pre-fixed menus during this week. These restaurants include: Artist Point, The Wave…of American Flavors, Yachtsman Steakhouse, and Hollywood Brown Derby.
