• Disney will be changing the minimum age for it’s admission policy for park guests.  The new policy is that kids under the age of 14 must now be accompanied by a guest age 14 or older.  The previous policy was that guests under that age of 8 had to be accompanied by a guest 14 or older.
• It is being said that the Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun! and the Disney Channel Rocks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be ending both of their runs on April 6.  No public announcement has been made as of yet, however the cast is aware of the closure.
• Disney has announced that they will be redoing it’s Downtown Disney area.  It will be called Disney Springs and will include double the number of shops and restaurant, from 75 to 150.  The new area will include a waterfront section, open air promenades, and wonderful springs. Two parking garages will also be added.  One will be on the Marketplace side.  One will be on the West Side.
  The area will include four neighborhoods that will all be interconnected:
  • Town Center: A mix of shopping and dining along a relaxing promenade (a brand new area built on former parking lots.)
  • The Landing: A thriving commercial district (formerly Pleasure Island.)
  • The Marketplace: More family friendly, including new features such as an over-the-water pedestrian walkway and an expanded World of Disney store.
  • The Westside: A lively entertainment district with lots of shade.

  

  

  

  

  Construction will be starting next month and the area will be finished in 2016.

• Annual Passholders will be getting RFID passes starting on March 20.  On that date, guests who purchase a new pass will receive the new RFID version.  For guests who already have their passes, they may get them over at The Odyssey at Epcot.  Passholders may do this anywhere from March 20 – May 19.  To get the RFID passes, guests will need to show their AP, as well as a photo ID.

• This week’s Limited Time Magic, which will run from March 18 – 24 and will have guests take part in a Disney character Easter “egg” hunt at Epcot.  Guests will search for hidden “eggs” which they will then be able to mark them with stickers on a special eggs-perience park map that will be available for purchase.  They can be found at Point of Entry, Pin Central, Heritage Manor at the American Adventure Pavilion, or the International Gateway.  When all the eggs have been discovered, you can turn your map at Port of Entry for a special prize.
