If you are planning on visiting The Food and Wine Festival at Epcot this year and you are a Chase Visa Card holder, you may want to take advantage of the Chase Lounge. Here, you can sip on some complimentary beverages and enjoy a relaxing break. The lounge is located on the third floor of the American Adventure Pavillion and each Chase Card holder will be allowed to bring up to 9 guests. The lounge will be open 11am-9pm Sunday thru Thursday and 11am-10 pm Friday and Saturday.
Upon arriving at the American Pavillion, The Chase Lounge entrance will be just to the right of the American Adventure entrance. Look for the sign and the black queue ropes. You will need to show your Chase Card and will be invited to either use the stairs or elevator. When you arrive on the third floor, a group of hosts will greet you and inform you drinks are to the right and seating and restrooms are to the left.
Moving to the right, there are two Freestyle Coke Machines. You can choose from the usual Coca-Cola products as well as more obscure flavors such as raspberry or orange flavored Coke, a variety of Fanta flavors (peach is excellent!), several Powerade flavors and many more. A table with coffee service is available as well as a cash bar that serves limited beer and wine should you choose.
Moving to the left side of the lounge, there are some comfy couches, high top standing tables, dining room type chairs, as well as regular tables and chairs, all fitting in the colonial theme of the American Pavillion. Although the windows are small, if you score a seat by the windows, they offer some nice views of World Showcase. Two televisions on either side of the room run ESPN. Several charging stations are scattered about with various hook ups to charge your phone. I also noticed some Disney themed board games, Disney Memory Game, and Nightmare Before Christmas Yahtzee to entertain young ones. Restrooms are located on this side as well.
A private viewing area to watch Illuminations might also be a perk available. I visited on a Monday and they were handing out wristbands however when I returned the following Thursday, they were not being offered. You might want to ask if they are available when you visit.
If you are able to obtain a wristband, the private viewing area is located across from the Italy Pavillion, just to the left of the Gondola Landing. The area is roped off and you will need to show your band to gain access. The landing offers a beautiful view of the entire lagoon. I arrived 20 minutes prior to Illuminations and had a fabulous, uncrowded spot to watch the show. An added bonus, you might be able to glimpse some of Wishes fireworks.
While the Chase Lounge might not be a ‘must do’ attraction, it is a welcome retreat during the heat of the afternoon. Sample some fun drinks, cool off in the air conditioning, catch the score of a sports game, and recharge your battery both literally and figuratively. Don’t forget to fill up your water bottle on the way out! You will leave feeling refreshed and ready to enjoy the rest of the Food and Wine festivities.
