- The Hippy Dippy Pool at Disney’s Pop Century will be closed for refurbishment from December 9 – 11, reopening December 12.
- Disney’s All Star Sport’s Surf’s Up Pool will be closed for a refurbishment from January 6 – 24, reopening January 25.
- Nikon has become the official camera for both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. As part of the agreement, Disney’s PhotoPass Photographers will all be equipped with Nikon gear. (Also, Disney’s Fine Art Photographers, who photograph Disney Fairy Tale Weddings, as well as Adventures By Disney Guides will now use Nikon cameras to capture precious images.) The former Kodak photo spots that can be found throughout the parks will also all be converted to Nikon Photo Spots.
- Spice Table Road, the new restaurant that is opening in the Morocco Pavilion is getting closer to it’s opening date. A few new details were released this week about the dining establishment. The restaurant, located on the water’s edge of the World Showcase Lagoon will feature 120 seats in an outdoor terrace. Indoors, there will be seating for 60 guests. It will draw it’s inspiration from outdoor cafes found along the Mediterranean. Diners will be able to try small plates that will include: garlic jumbo shrimp in a spicy chile pepper sauce; harissa chicken drumettes; mussels with preserved lemons and tomato sauce; a Mediterranean omelet with sausage, potatoes and caramelized onion; and Moroccan merguez sausage with a tomato salad. The restaurant has no official opening date, however, initial reports indicated it would be open by the end of the year.
- This week’s Limited Time Magic helps to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. Disney will be offering up special delicacies including: At the Magic Kingdom, Tony’s Town Square, Sleepy Hollow, and the Main Street Bakery are offering pumpkin treats. In Epcot, at Sunshine Seasons guests can choose from pumpkin muffins or pumpkin cheesecake. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, pumpkin cupcakes can be found throughout the park. Finally, at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, at Tusker House enjoy a full Thanksgiving buffet for both lunch and dinner on Thanksgiving Day.
