Walt Disney World News

  • For those of you with Apple devices, with the introduction of the new iPhone6 and iPhone6 Plus will come a new way to pay for purchases called ApplePay.  The news also stated that Disney would be one of the companies that would accept this form of payment.  It will be able to be utilized at Disney Parks and Resorts, as well as at Disney Stores and will officially be rolled out by the end of December.  Click here to find out more information about ApplePay if you missed the announcement last week.

Frozen

  • Big news!  Frozen is officially coming to Epcot!  A new attraction is going to be built in the Norway Pavilion.  This new attraction will take guests to the land of Arendelle, where they will be included in their favorite scenes and be immersed in the music from the movie. In addition, a new meet and greet location featuring Anna and Elsa will be included, so guests will be able to meet the sisters in Epcot.  Of course, with this addition, it was announced that Maelstrom will be closing.  Maelstrom’s last day of operation is slated to be October 5.  The new Frozen attraction is expected to open in early 2016.
  • I’ve got more Frozen related announcements! For those who will be visiting the Magic Kingdom this holiday season, it was announced that Elsa will be the one this year to turn the castle into the ice palace that it typically transforms into each night.  (Previously, the Fairy Godmother was the one who created the iced-out castle.)  And for those who will get to see the “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade,” they will have the opportunity to see Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Olaf who will be joining the parade this year.
  • Finally in the Frozen news, the “For the First Time In Forever – A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” will be continuing past September 28. In addition, the Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post will be moving closer to the sing-along and will feature a larger play area with real snow.
