Spring is here in Florida and the warmer weather arrived just in time for The Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. This event brings special food offerings, concerts, elaborate flower and topiary displays, and other special events to the Disney park.
Along with the tasty treats and exciting events, some fantastic new merchandise options arrive. Some of the items that caught my eye this year were the purses, bags, and a wallet specially designed for the festival by Dooney and Bourke.
As soon as I saw the small cross-body purse, I knew that I wanted one! I was fortunate enough to be traveling near Orlando on the first day of the festival and decided to stop by Epcot to pick one up. On the weekends, the bags are available in the Festival Center, but during the week they can be found in other shops. I found the bags in the Port of Entry shop as I made my way toward the World Showcase.
When I checked out the bag in person, I was surprised that the price was lower than I had expected; the small purse was $138, and though this could still be considered expensive, the price is lower than many of the other Dooney and Bourke purses. The other prices are a bit higher: $198 for the wallet, $248 for the satchel, and $268 for the tote.
I like small purses, so I fell in love with the size of the cross-body. It is about the size of an average clutch and is just big enough to hold essentials such as a cellphone, keys, cash, and credit cards. There are credit card slots on the inside of the purse which eliminates the need for a wallet. This is nice when you don’t have a lot of space to work with. There is also a key clip on the inside.
The pattern is adorable and in the few days that I have owned the purse, I have gotten many compliments on it. The black and white pattern goes with just about everything, so I have carried it non-stop since I purchased it.
It also has a detachable strap extension so that you can have a short or long strap. This is great for those who like the option of wearing the bag cross-body. Personally, I usually prefer a shorter strap so that I can tuck the bag under my arm, but it is great to have both options available.
The material has a nice feel and the zipper is sturdy. I have a habit of shoving more into a purse than I should and straining the zipper, so it was very important to me that the zipper be high quality.
I absolutely love this bag and am very seriously considering going back to purchase one of the totes. The only thing stopping me is the price tag (and the 2 ½ hour drive), but if I find myself at Epcot before the festival ends I may end up coming home with one!
Have you purchased one of the new Dooney and Bourke bags? Do you love yours as much as I do?
