If you’re not already convinced you need to visit Walt Disney World in the fall, which is one of my favorite times to go, take a look at all of the exciting happenings! The are many reasons to visit Walt Disney World this fall.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
Returning more nights than ever before, September 2, 2016 kicks off this Halloween celebration. This hard-ticket event includes trick-or-treating, your favorite characters in costume, the Boo to You parade, Happy HalloWishes fireworks, and many opportunities to celebrate this spooktacular season.
A New Princess
Guests can now see Disney’s first Latin-culture inspired princess, Elena of Avalor at Magic Kingdom Park. Elena stars in the new Disney Channel series, Elena of Avalor, a spinoff of Sofia the First. Your princesses and princes will love seeing their storybook friends full-size!
Disney Springs
This newly re-imagined area boasts four different neighborhoods – the Landing, Marketplace, West Side, and Town Center. Designed around bubbling springs, Disney Springs is your own-of-a-kind shopping, entertainment, and dining mecca. Shop at new retailers like LACOSTE, Sperry, Vera Bradey, and the Levi’s Store. Or if eating is more your thing, check out the newly opened Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming, Sprinkles Bakery, or Amorette’s Patisserie. You won’t be without something to do with over 150 different options for your shopping, dining, and entertainment needs.
Celebrate Halloween with Disney Villains at Club Villain
Between September 2 and October 29, 2016, (and Halloween) on Friday and Saturday nights, you can attend a special ticketed event at Sunset Showcase in Hollywood Studios. The event brings your favorite villains to you with performances, food, and “bewitching cocktails” twice per night. Start times for this event are 5:15 and 8:30 pm.
More Muppets
PizzaRizzo will make its debut as the first ever Muppet-themed restaurant, located at Hollywood Studios. PizzaRizzo will be serving up pizza right in the Muppet Courtyard. But Hollywood Studios isn’t the only place you’ll see the Muppets. A new show is also coming to the Magic Kingdom. “The Muppets Present… Great Moments in American History” will debut in October in Liberty Square.
Disney’s Night of Joy 2016
Featuring MercyMe, Casting Crowns, and Chris Tomlin, Disney’s Christian music event will be held at ESPN Wide World of Sport Complex September 9-10, 2016. The sell-out event is being hosted in a new, expanded location with more activities this year to accommodate more guests.
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
Running a record 62 days this year, this culinary festival delights the taste buds of everyone! Epcot hosts this annual event featuring over 30 marketplace booths with food & beverage options from all over the world. If you enjoy food, wine, beer, or dessert, this event is a must-do between September 14 – November 14, 2016. You can also attend special events, seminars with celebrity chefs, musical acts, and special merchandise.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
Don’t miss the magic of Christmas at the Walt Disney World Resort. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes place at the Magic Kingdom on select nights beginning November 7, 2016. You will surely get in the spirit with hot chocolate and cookies, the holiday parade, and snow on Main Street, USA. Get your tickets for this special event now.
Holidays Around the World & Candlelight Processional
Continue the holiday celebrations at Epcot around the World Showcase. Explore the holiday customs and culture at each pavilion. Narrated by celebrity guests, “The Candlelight Processional” takes place in the America Gardens theater where choir singers bring the sounds of holiday music to you.
New Attractions & Entertainment
If everything above hasn’t tempted you, new attractions such as Soarin’ Around the World, Frozen Ever After, and Mickey’s Royal Friendship Fair stage show will! You can follow that up with by meeting Frozen characters in the Royal Summerhus, or check out the new nighttime show at Hollywood Studios, “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” where fireworks, lights, and lasers perform like never before!
